The food was so good … The rolls were a bit small but it was good. Service was only alright, i gave them my debit to pay and they never told me I had to go to the front to pay. I waited for 15 minutes and then asked them if I can have the machine to pay. The worker walked past me a few times too and never told me I had to go to the front to pay.

First of all, the parking here sucks. There isn’t enough parking in the lot for the busy businesses in this complex. You have to drive up willingdon a bit and go into the side street. Now onto the food. This place I was skeptical about at first because 1. I have never heard of it. 2. It didn’t have the BEST reviews. However, when I got here, I noticed one big thing and that was they had aburi. Right off the bat we ordered all the aburi except the saba. We also ordered a lot of different rolls and sashimi. The rolls were very creative and flavorful and the aburi was actually pretty darn good. I’d definitely come back here just for the aburi and sushi rolls. The volcano roll was definitely my favorite as it was chalk full of different ingredients. The food was your average price, but some of the rolls were a little more expensive then I would’ve liked to pay. The restaurant was pretty spacious, with wide walking aisles and it wasn’t that noisy. The staff was nice and attentive to our needs when we requested them to. I have some photos of our food if you’d like to look at some of the stuff we ate. Overall. Food 9⁄10 Value 8⁄10 Ambiance 8⁄10 Service 8⁄10 I’d come back here if I was in the area. Definitely a decent sushi joint!

AWESOMESERVICE! Came with a party of 8. Made reservations 15 – 20 min ahead of time and were seated immediately. We ordered a number of dishes. They also gave us a handful of different dishes on the house! YAY! FYI these were free full orders– salmon, various sushi rolls and more. My uncle, who’s a local, actually suggested this place. Apparently this is common thing here. They basically give away food so customers can try new items on the menu. Great idea because it got my uncle and his family hooked. If I actually lived in the area I would definitely come back too. Food is fresh, delicious, and comes out fairly quick. Only downside is parking. Small shared lot with limited, tight spaces.

They used to be better but the standards have really dropped, at least, the service has gotten considerably worse. Food is still good, but I found that a lot of times you have to stand for a long time before they even notice you are there. Also, they tend to be extremely hard to flag down, sometimes they would flat out ignore you. When this place just opened they would ask how you’re doing and etc. and whether you want water or tea… Those days are certainly over! But the food is why this restaurant still gets three stars. Their sushi, while a little more on the pricey side, has always tasted pretty decent. My favorites are the tarantula roll and the spicy tuna tempura roll. They always hit the mark. The fact that they use less rice is a good thing because what I hate the most about sushi is if it’s wrapped in mountains of useless rice. Still, the service recently has started to leave a bad taste in my mouth… I used to be a regular, but honestly, there’s so many better sushi places to go to. I would drop by if I happen to be in the area but I would not make a trip just to eat there on purpose. 3⁄5 meh.

This is the best Korean run Japanese restaurant in the city IMHO. Presentation is fantastic, the place is clean, the fish is fresh, the rolls are creative and nigiri size true to form. Price is very reasonable. Much better than Sushi Garden and the similar ilk. Parking isn’t great but it’s worth it. It’s my new go to sushi place.

Best Spicy Rolls in Vancouver, get the Spicy Combo or the Volcano Roll. They don’t use much rice so the flavour really has a punch. The atmosphere is great. It is so popular that finding parking at lunch can be difficult, I suggest coming in before 11:50 to beat the rush.

I didn’t really like their salmon sashimi but other than that everything else was really good. Loved their rolls and as for service, we came in close to their break time but we were still able to order and eat. Would definitely come back!

Team Pie Day came here for a birthday dinner and I ordered the following: Oji Roll($ 7.70) Red Roll(~$ 7) The Oji Roll came with avocado, salmon, tobiko(small mini fish eggs), and black sesame. The black and green tobiko was a nice pattern and the avocado tasted pretty ripe. Each one of these pieces fit right into my mouth and had a good popping sensation with me chomping into the tobiko. The Red Roll came with scallop, tuna, and tempura bits. If you like sushi with built-in sauce over soy sauce, then you will enjoy this one with its spicy mayo sauce. The tuna and scallop are great to have together and eat bite was a tender fishy bite. Overall the Oji Roll looked prettier but my taste buds enjoyed the Red Roll more and the sushi selection is prettier than at say, Kitstaya Sushi. The rice used here also tastes fresher than the average sushi joint, similar to Shiro.

It’s the typical type of sushi covered in sauce. Not my thing. — Korean run — Not high quality sushi — The rolls were«mushy» — Prices are higher than average — Clean interior — Quick friendly service — The food was OK, but I will not return based on the value for my dollar

Parking is hell! But Fast Service. My husband and I have been trying to come to this sushi restaurant for many years now but every single time parking lots if FULL. The restaurant only have about 5 parking spots(or less) the rest is owned by other shops or a free for all in the this small strip mall. Friday late afternoon I just happen to drive by and noticed some parking spots. As I drove into the parking lots I realized it wasn’t for the sushi restaurant, I was about to drive away I saw a car backing out. I thought about leaving but the hunger struck me! As I finally entered this restaurant, I was shocked at the modern décor not too big but plenty of booths and tables. It was pretty busy for the time of day. The menu was big, I ordered the sashimi & sushi combo for $ 11. It came really fast! I think I was in and out within 20 minutes, which was nice. The sushi /sashimi cuts was on the small side but fresh and pretty tasty. If you plan to use credit your bill has to be over $ 5. Overall is was good, but good luck trying to find parking!

This is my favourite sushi place in the city. Service is always quick and pleasant, and the sushi is always wonderfully fresh. They have a great selection of fancy, decadent rolls(the Volcano roll is a little rich for me, but the tuna sashimi topping comes in an awesome spicy fruit sauce, a bit like Hawaiian poke), but their fish is so great that even the simple rolls are delicious. My favourite is the Boston roll. The one thing where they fall a bit flat is in their cooked foods. The tempura and croquette are great, but their yakisoba and udon soup could use more flavour. My husband is an udon man and would give anything for them to make a spicy pork udon. That said, my husband is allergic to salmon, and they’re always willing to make him sushi rolls without any cross-contamination from the counter. Sushi S, I love you!

Incredible sushi. We came for my mom’s birthday. We took a chance on this place because I had been searching for«pressed sushi» aka«Oshi Sushi» similar to what guu garden specializes in. I read from some Unilocal reviewers that they were able to ask off menu for it. We thought that it would be a problem, but they were happy to accommodate. The rest of their speciality rolls were fantastic pieces of art. Some amazing work was put into the presentation. Seriously some of the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Suffice it to say, we had an excellent time there.

One of the best sushi in Burnaby. My family loves it. No wonder they love: the food is amazing, the staff is friendly and the place has a nice environment. I’ve been going there at least once a month, for more than an year, and their quality has never dropped.

That was my first time there and for sure the last time. I came there by myself the time was 7PM After I ordered sushi the waiters told me that they don’t have White rice… What??? Then she told me that I need to wait 30 min for my order(the place was half empty) I hope you’re food is not that bad as the rest

I love Sushi, so I tried this sushi restaurant because it is closed to my school. However, I swear I will never step in the restaurant in the future. The waiting time is very long, even if the waitress gave me miso soup for appreciation. Then, the costumer who had come later than me got the same food as I ordered first! This is so unforgivable! The food is not fresh as well and taste like plastic. When I was eating, do you know what I saw? I saw their sushi chefs were touch the food without gloves! I will never visit this restaurant!

I’ve solved the puzzle! The«S» in «Sushi S» stands for Sex because that’s certainly what my taste buds were doing with their food. Zing! The food at this place is incredibly fresh and well-seasoned for a Korean-owned Japanese restaurant(as the K-pop beats playing in the back would indicate). I mean sure, other Korean Japanese restaurants serve fresh sushi, but Sushi S really gets that typical Korean Hot Sauce concoction just right(you all know what I’m talking about). And for those of you who do not, do yourselves a favor and order their renowned Volcano Sushi(you’ll be pleasantly amused). 5 Stars! *****

Great service, nice ambiance — very modern, clean, and simple inside. There were a lot to chose from on the menu and many of the rolls were unique. The food was brought out fresh and they were placed nicely on the plates. They gave us complimentary oranges at the end. I’ll definitely be back!

I went there with a friend, were seated immediately by a friendly waitress. Our menus were brought quickly and we were made to feel like valued customers from the get-go. While we were choosing what to eat, they brought us complimentary miso soups! We enjoyed the ambiance, a real tasteful mix of modern and tradition. Then came the food… First thing we noticed was how visually remarkable the plates were, artistically designed and followed up with a great taste to match! We were checked up on often, and had our green tea and water filled up frequently. The waitress always had a genuine smile on her face! I will keep going back, for sure. Overall 9⁄10 (1 point being taken off for price being slightly higher than average, but really not too bad, and parking isn’t the easiest)
