Trauma Tech

Renewed my OFA ticket at Trauma Tech again and they made me feel at home as always. Free coffee, great facility, and really knowledgeable instructor. They even gave me a free t-​shirt for getting 100% on my exam! I would definitely recommend this first aid school.

I’ve recently just re-​certified my OFA level 2 ticket through Trauma Tech. The staff here are incredible, always friendly and the instructors are very thorough in the way they teach. If you had any questions, they would always be happy to answer and so patient with the new students who were nervous and not quite grasping the material. To me? that’s truly caring about your student’s success.
I highly recommend to anyone who’s certifying for OFA’s level 1 through 3 for either their workplace or their personal knowledge. :)

Trauma Tech is the best in the business!
I finished my First Aid Level 2 a few weeks ago, and have confidently settled into my new role as First Aid Attendant at work. I’ve even treated a couple people for minor injuries.
I had Jane as my instructor for the incredibly challenging week of training. Her immense first aid knowledge was quite apparent by the first coffee break. Her no nonsense teaching style works well for the intense week of drills and practical experience required to save lives in the real world. What caused a few of my classmates to be a little annoyed with her were their constant «What if???» questions that interrupted the class on many occasions. That was mentioned as a no-​no in the first minute of class on the Monday. Keep the stupid what if questions to yourself there isn’t enough time to deal with everything. Plain and simple.
Having spent so much time with her and having more than 15 years of first aid training with other more well known institutions I feel the need to speak up in her defense from the orange head review listed below.
I am glad she was in my face throughout the week. I felt totally uncomfortable at times, I felt like hiding behind my first aid kit other times. I was stressed beyond belief that week. Exhausted, hungry, weary… Why?
Because Occupational First Aid Level 2 is no joke. If you can’t handle fear and stress and fake blood in the safe confines of a classroom how in the hell are you going to save someones life at your workplace?
Had I taken this course one month earlier I would have been the Attendant at work that dealt with a worker who was crushed by a 600kg door. His ribs popped out the sides of his coveralls. People screaming… total chaos! (He did survive just so you know)
I am thankful Jane put me through the ringer every day. She questioned everything I did. Kept me on my toes. And I am very glad for that. When it came time for the practical and written exams I could have done them with my eyes closed.
Trauma Tech is the best.

Oh… and there’s tons of free parking two blocks west along the side streets off Lougheed if you don’t mind a 5 minute walk to class.

I recently completed my OFA Level 1 with Trauma Tech. I had Bev as an instructor and she was fabulous! While the course was fast paced and some things were pretty detailed, I never felt lost/​confused. I never felt silly asking a question either, Bev was extremely knowledgeable, patient and helpful to all the students. I left my 1-​day course feeling confident that if there was an emergency in my workplace, I could handle it calmly.
My one suggestion would be a slightly longer day (8hrs total maybe?) with a few more quick brain breaks! It was a lot of info to soak up in 7.5hrs!
Definitely looking forward to my OFA Level 2 now that I know what to expect. Well done, TT!

I took my Occupational First Aid level 3 with Trauma Tech. My instructor, Dustin, was an absolute professional to work with. He was an excellent teacher, communicator, and had a great sense of humor. I was surprised that it only took me 20 minutes from Downtown to Burnaby on the SkyTrain (Gilmore Station). Definitely one of the better first aid training institutes in the Lower Mainland.
