I should have known to Unilocal this quickly before I tried this place out! We were on our way to Bubble World when we passed by this and opted to ‘try something new’ so we stepped in for a quick lunch. NEVER. Again. 1) Service was incredibly slow and incompetent. We were seated around the corner and the server never came back to check on us to take our order. Had to flag them down after 15 mins. I had to ask them repeatedly for cutlery, none of which was set for us to begin with. 2) There were ANTS crawling on the table and walls! When I pointed this out to the waiter, it looked like what I said went in one ear, and out the other. Totally clueless blank look on his face. I had to request if we could move our table adjacent away from the wall. You would think he would think he would have offered us another table after I told him there were bugs crawling right next to my shoulder and on our table! Totally clueless. 3) The food was beyond disappointing. I ordered the spicy hot pot. It took over 20 minutes for my dish to arrive and when it came it wasn’t even hotpot! Just hot soup noodles in a different metal bowl, no flame. They also messed up on my order and gave me the wrong ingredients which at this point I was soooo past the point of caring because they servers seemed so detached, what was the point. I just wanted to get out of there! Half of the ingredients were shredded into ribbons and even though I ordered mild soup, it was soo spicy and definitely not mild! Too many things wrong to name about this place!

Had the beef rolls with onions, pot stickers, deep fried chicken, special beef noodle soup and fried noodles. They were all tasty until I got the MSG hit. Judging by my symptoms there was a lot of MSG so I won’t be going back.

The tomato beef soup was delicious! The soup was flavorful and different from the typical beef stew I’ve tried before. Meat was tender and the perfect chewiness. Took home the rest of the noodles and soup that i couldn’t finish and my family was in love with it too. They had a buy one get one deal on the drinks as well and the price for the noodles was really good too.

A cold and rainy day. perfect for some phở or ramen. But today I decided to try something new. Staff greeted me and sat me at a 4-person table. I went to the washroom and came back to find 4 people sitting at my table. That’s just funny to me. Has no bearing on the rating. OK so I sat at a 2-person table(by myself – yes, I was loning it up). Glass top was all streaky with whatever they wiped the table down with. Asked for help ordering the lunch special and the waiter pointed me to the tomato beef noodle soup, saying that’s what«foreigners» prefer. Lunch special comes with a coffee but I asked for at tea instead and he said they don’t have any(really?), so I asked for a coffee instead. Never got a coffee. F it, who cares. So here’s the thing… I don’t know what to expect here because if it’s a traditional Chinese soup, so be it, but this was kinda odd to me. Tomato and lettuce in a beef broth with noodles and chunks of beef. Lettuce in soup? Either way, it tasted just OK but the chewiness of the noodles was not to my liking.

I give this place a solid 3.5 stars only because my boyfriend’s meal tasted better than mine. I came here after seeing it advertise through the K-lip magazine and I was craving some taiwanese food. We walked in at around 1ish on a weekday and the place was pretty empty. I believe there was less than a handful of tables being occupied but the empty tables still had dirty dishes displayed. There were 2 servers working. We were seated at a corner. I’m not a fan of corners when it comes to Chinese places because they tend to forget about the people who sit there. Once we were seated they gave us a menu where we tick off with a washable pen of what we want and they come and circle what we ticked off. I have to say that’s a pretty smart way of reusing the menus but it does accumulate dirty pen marks on the sheet when it’s not cleaned properly. They had like 3 different menus where one is their lunch specials. Their lunch specials were basically a few dishes with free coffee or add 1.00 for like a honey milk tea. I had their marinated pork on rice with a honey milk tea and a side order of deep fried chicken nuggets. I really liked the rice but my drink was really sweet. When the ice started to melt, the drink got better. The chicken nuggets were disappointing because it just tasted like deep fried dough. It was cool how it comes in 3 or 4 different flavours. I chose the original and yet it still tasted like nothing. My boyfriend ordered a tomato beef noodle soup with a coconut milk tea. Both were really good. Overall, the place looks laid back. You can tell they tried to put in some effort to make it look nice but didn’t keep up with it. Food was overall decent. Not bad to try out if you are around the hood.

I dont agree with the bad reviews. I found the servers here to be friendly and helpful. Cheap and flavourful noodle joint. We ate in but the counter guy gave me 10% off for no reason — sweet! But they are lacking in vegetarian options so i suggest updating the menu a bit — this is the land of the everything green, yoga obsessed, tree hugger after all :)

One of the best noodle soup restaurants that I have ever been. The service was great that everyone is passionate and helpful. They gave us a board of menu to order that we could use markers to choose. I had the house special noodle soup and fresh milk tea that are all very delicious. Will come back next time!

I had a coupon from Klip. Buy one drink get one free at Tri-bull noodle, so I decided to give it a try at this restaurant ordering a bowl of beef noodles in soup. The noodles were too soft that they were over cooked. There were several slices of beef and only 1 piece of small Shanghai bok choi. The beef noodles in soup looked like what I cooked at home. The service was not good. My table was sitting at the corner of the restaurant behind a wall, so it was hard to see the waiters or waitresses out there. It took me a long time to order the food. When needed something(like wanting some spicy sauce), it was waiting again. Waiters or waitresses would hardly check on the customers’ needs. I also ordered a dish of popcorn chicken at $ 5.95. The portion was small. Bubble World down the street could have given me more popcorn chicken in a dish. I did not have a pleasure experience eating here as there were flies or mosquitos flying around us or near the food on the table. I would not like to go back to this restaurant unfortunately.

I drove by Tri-Bull tonight and decided to check it out. I am quite surprised that TBN received such low ratings. I just couldn’t agree all the reviews were so negative after I actually tried out myself… First, service was not bad at all, in my humble opinion it was prompt & attentive. The server topped our water few times & took our empty plates. Second, food is yummy with good presentation(please check out my photos). Third, prices are fair with decent portion. Fourth, the ambiance is comfy & I like the all around windows. Pretty sure I will return & try out other items on their menu. A solid four stars any time of the day. I give it five to bring up the curve coz TBN really deserve a higher rating than 1.5 imo.

Slow service. Servers seem unaware of the menu. Food was mediocre. My salty peppery chicken was quite tasteless. My friend’s «favourite» part of the meal was her plain rice. So that says something. Redeeming quality was a decent milk tea. But not enough to go back. Don’t waste your time.

It was alright. Nothing blew my mind. This is mainland chinese version of taiwanese food. Service is oddly slow even though there weren’t a lot of customers. The fried chicken nuggets were good. Noodles were alright. Not much Toppings in the noodle soups tho. Just a few slices of meat and a bok choy.

Well, I’m not usually one who follows the pack but in this case I have to. Yup, another one star review from me as well. I don’t even really know where to begin, well let’s start with the one star, the service. The servers were nice and polite and even though they didn’t speak great english tried to describe the weird menu to us. She explained right off the bat that one whole page of the menu was not available, at first we thought they just ran out of alot of stuff but it actually says on the menu that«these items not available on Tuesdays». Ok, that’s pretty weird but anyways we order off the stuff we can have, we ordered the deep fried tofu, this dish I’ve had a gazillion times at other chinese/tawiwanese places. This was the weirdest one I’ve ever had, it came with like a condensed milk drizzled on top, it wasn’t spicy it was like sweet and just tasted weird/gross. I couldn’t even finish the peice I had and left it on my buddys plate. We also had the salty peppery chicken, not salty or peppery but again on the sweet side, just weird! We had another rice dish and noodle dish, didn’t even try the rice dish but my friends didn’t like it, the noodles were a tan tan noodle and was just pretty much a bowl of chili oil. We also ordered some drinks, my buddy ordered a bubble tea which he didn’t like and I ordered a soda drink that took forever and wasn’t even cold. I live around the corner and have a feeling this restaurant won’t be around for a long time.

The food was disappointing, we try the house special beef noodle, the short rib noodle, and salt and pepper chicken which they all have a star in the menu, and it was just disappointing. Soup base was watery, lots of noodles, but very little meats. The salt and pepper chicken was dry and not salty nor peppery. There wasnt even any veggie in the soup noodles.

Came here for dinner tonight with my husband and we ordered the salty peppery chicken, cold chicken, and special pork rice. The servers were polite but the food was just disappointing. The salty peppery chicken was neither salty nor peppery! It’s in the name! Overall, the three dishes were grossly underseasoned and we are not coming back here. The one positive thing is that the servers were polite and they clarified the order before entering it. Overall, not enough for me to return here.

Zero stars. The beef noodle special taste like water and salt. The deep fried chicken has no flavored. The rice with beef is very oily, the rice is hard, and there’s no flavor. The milk tea is too sweet, the green tea lemon honey is too sour.
