History

Established in 2004.

Back in the Pack dog daycare started in 2004 catering to business professionals in the inner city NW. In 2007, Back in the Pack started offering pet portraiture as a way to expand our business in a smaller environment.

In 2012 we were able to secure our second, and much larger facility on the edge of Bowness, right beside Rona.

In September of 2013 we merged both dog daycare locations under one woof (haha) and now host all our services from our Bowness location. We are able to accommodate a much larger client base, offering a dedicated portrait studio, evening and weekend training classes and grooming services Tuesday through Friday.

Meet the Business Owner

Brian B.

Business Owner

A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design and The University of Calgary, Brian’s entrepreneurial spirit came into full swing in 2004 when he and his wife Janice Illsey, started Back in the Pack as a career change for Janice, the real dog expert. In 2006, Brian and Janice changed careers with Janice heading back to the «real world» and Brian taking over the daycare full-​time. Now, in 2012, they are both working at the business and combining their complimentary skills to growing the daycare.

Both Brian and Janice have lived their entire lives in Calgary with almost all of it within a 3 minute drive of the Kensington Rd location, a 9 minute drive from our Bowness daycare. This has given Brian a very clear understanding of the community and it’s needs.
