The Corporate Readiness Training Program at Bow Valley College is a wonderful program for skilled immigrants which helps them gain essential skills for transitioning to the Canada, and more specifically, Alberta work force.
The program provides new Canadians insight and hands on experience in learning how to get a job from researching job opportunities, networking, volunteering and learning and thriving in workplace cultures. A main focus of the program is English language and skill development in reading, writing, listening and talking.
My friend completed this program and was pleased with how nice and helpful the instructors were. She mentioned there was a 6 week unpaid placement at the end of the program to put into practice what she learned and was hired on after the 6 weeks.
Bow Valley College’s Corporate Readiness Training Program should be one of the first things a new immigrant does to assist them in transitioning to the Alberta work place. Good work Bow Valley College!

Do you want to upgrade your skills or your education but cant because you are already in your field working full time? Well Bow Valley has the answer. I have an amazing job so going back to school is not an option but upgrading definitely is and Bow Valley gives me the chance to do this with night and weekend classes.
I just enrolled in their interior decorating certificate program so I can learn simple things like planning out a blueprint for a room and gutting out a bathroom. I know it sounds amazing right???
Fortunately classes start at 530 on weekdays and Saturdays is now allocated to looking at window treatments. I am totally excited.
Staff at BV are extremely cordial and helpful in making sure I have the right books, schedule and classes to complete my certification.
I also hear that BV will provide education for folks that are unemployed and financially stunted for next to nothing. So check them out online or give them a call.
Oh they offer a great English program as well to new immigrants that have graced our wondrous city.
