CDL Carpet & Floor Centre

I have mixed feelings about CDL. On the one hand they have a good selection of products and a reasonable price. They have a good location and are the closest flooring place to our house which is also a bonus. In the past when we’ve been in we’ve had some great service where the salesman has gone out of his way to be helpful, but on the most recent visits the service has been a bit lacklustre… not bad, just not great. The biggest problem with them was that we purchased flooring for our basement that we were going to install ourselves and then after paying for it, found out that we would have to drive clear across the city to pick it up. Had we know this before paying, we likely wouldn’t have purchased it. The warehouse was supposed to call us when the flooring was ready for pickup, but they didn’t. Then after I called to track it down we had a hard time arranging a time to pick it up because the warehouse hours are very short during the week and they aren’t open on the weekend (the showroom is, but the warehouse isn’t). We finally arranged a time on a weekend, rented a truck, drove down there, only to be greeted by a saleswoman who gave us attitude about trying to pick it up on a weekend even after we had spoke with them an hour before to schedule it.
