The Huntington Hills gym is decent but their childminding is fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about it. The facility is always clean and the staff arr absolutely wonderful. I have been taking my daughter there since she was 2.5 months old and they took very good care of her so I could have a stress –free work out

I go to this gym every other day. Very clean and am always happy with the staff and the towel, soap, disinfectant dispensers are always full. Many yound people in there (tattooed with beats) generally a good experience when it is not to busy. (Deerfoot)

Was not pleased with service from the get go. I walked into the gym and stood there for 20 – 30 seconds waiting for the lady to stop texting and talk to me. I asked about joining and said I wanted to take a class. She said do you have an appointment, of which I had not. She said, rudely, well you need an appointment. I didn’t know this so I asked if I could still try the class today and book an appointment for later. She said just come after the class. I came and waited for about 20 minutes while they searched around for someone to speak with me. They grabbed and employee who I think was on his break working out. He asked me about 5 questions and then said if I wanna try it out I can he would give me a: day pass. I said great! And then he said just tell the desk you have a pass next time you come in, I did the next day and was told if I didn’t get a physical pass then I can’t come in. Ok, please communicate internally and figure out what the policy is, I live about 2 blocks away and now choose to drive 5 – 10 minutes to get better service.

This is a nice gym but mostly only good for cardio workouts. Busy time on equipment is between 4−10pm weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday. During these times you will wait for equipment and if you are looking to use the cable cross over or other cable equipment… good luck! I have commented to staff that another cable cross over is desperately needed for this location. Also, during peak times people horde machines/​benches. Not a good place to go for serious gym goers.

I go to this gym late at night to avoid the crowds. The front desk person (Jenna) is great and she is always very helpful. Gym is clean in general and the paper towel dispensers and disinfectant sprays (which a lot of idiots don’t use) are always refilled. Just a few recommedations though:
— It would be great if this location can remain open until midnight on Fridays
— Dumbells only go to 100 lbs. Maybe purchase a set of dumbells that go from 110 to 150 lbs. like they have at Northland.
— Purchase more AbWheels. There is only 1 and you have to borrow it at the front desk.
— Post huge signs at the entrance to leave wet shoes out. Lockers are filthy because of idiots who bring their wet shoes into the gym. Lots of shoe racks outside.
Overall, a very good gym to work out in.

Went in today for my trial and really liked it,. Will update this once I’m sure how I like it.

I have to say that my experience with GoodLife Beacon Hill has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
I used the 30 day pass (when I got it, it was 30 days for $ 30) and thought that the facilities were nice. It was close to my home and the variety of equipment was great. When my 30 days were up, I decided to get a month-​to-​month membership. I wasn’t looking for anything long-​term — I went in wanting to get a two month membership (I told the sales associate I wanted to pay for two months upfront) and do month-​to-​month for maybe three or four months in total.
This is where everything goes downhill. Month to month costs about $ 90 a month. So, I’d be looking at shelling out $ 180 for two months. The sales associate told me that if I got a one year or two year membership, the price per month would decrease significantly (obviously). It would be $ 24 every two weeks for the 2 year membership (so $ 48 a month). And then, when I wanted to cancel, I would pay a buyout fee of $ 99.
So, two months upfront = $ 180. Two months with membership = $ 195. Once I hit month three, that is where the savings started: three months upfront = $ 270. Three months with membership = $ 243. So, if I decided to stay for three months, that is where the savings started. I decided: why wouldn’t I do this? This sounds like a wonderful deal! So I did.
Alas, I went to cancel it, and I was told, no, the buy out fee was $ 249. I understand that I might not be the brightest of the bunch, but the specific reason I went with a 2 year membership was because it would be cheaper even in the short term. However, it ended up completely screwing me over! When I went to management, they explained that I must have misunderstood because the sales associate was a senior member. No. I didn’t misunderstand. Your sales associate misled me and now I’m out $ 150.
I will never, for as long as I live, ever be a GoodLife member again. I will also caution everyone I know against joining GoodLife because they use these unethical practices in order to get more membership sales. I just wanted to go to a gym for a couple of months. Was that so bad?

My husband and I came to check out the gym before we purchased memberships. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a stench of sweat! I know it’s a gym but I’ve never stepped into one that stunk so badly. The lady at the front desk instructed us that we’d be taken on a tour of the gym and to do so, we’d need to sign a waiver. We both figured this was just a ploy to get our phone number so they could harass us later and it turned out we were right-I’ll get to that in a sec.
We were then taken about 3 feet into the gym to little tables they have set up and met about 5 minutes later by a «fitness professional» who was supposed to take us on the so called tour and tell us about the gym. She took down our names and asked us what we wanted to do in the gym, asked some general health questions and then shoved the prices in our faces. No tour, no explanation of what the gym had (or clearly doesn’t have) to offer.
Definitely not impressed; will NOT be getting a membership at this location or any other GoodLife.

Very good gym the only thing is some of the equipment not repaired fast enough.
Few equipment is showing age just need refinishing.

I love classes and this is s great place for them. Clean and generally friendly people and instructors.

I can’t say I have much to say about this gym as I only work out here around 2am. but it is 24hrs Mon might to Thurs night so that’s something. I have heard from people that it can’t get quite busy during the day so might have to pick and choose when you work out here.

This facility is in the shell of a big box store in the newish Beacon Hill shopping area, and as such has an open concept and oodles of modern fitness equipment. The facilities are well maintained, and include two awesome massage chairs that are surprisingly underutilized.
The club also has an extensive schedule of group exercise classes designed by Les Mills. From all the slick logos and class names I gather Les is a pretty fancy pants trainer, but all joking aside, the music and exercise coordination in these classes is really good, even if the overall intensity is somewhat light for advanced trainees.
There are also a number of 45 minute spin classes every day, which it must be noted are held in a mercifully air conditioned Spin Room. I find I can push a lot harder if merely coated in my own sweat rather than bathing in it.
Like all GoodLifes, they have a heart rate and blood pressure station, which is handy for tracking your fitness over time. This brings me to a final salient point: while many fitness chains have a similar big box setup, GoodLife’s takeover of all Gold’s Gyms in January 2013 gives them a prime spot in Eau Claire downtown. Your membership is good for all GoodLifes including this one, whereas for example WHC charges extra for the downtown Bay Club.

Machines. There are lots of them! Generally a young-​middle aged crowd. You see a lot of tattoos in here. For the person who likes a lot of free weights this gym might not be for him/​her. The staff are pleasant; some of the service desk staff seem a bit careless, besides that it is a good place to work out! Membership and tanning are a very competitive price. I do recommend this gym for someone who casually works out.

Clean gym with lots of cardio equipment. Atmosphere is friendly and the staff are helpful. Pricing is also reasonable.

I have been a member for close to a year and really like the club. I got a pretty good contract and pay much less than what I was at World Health. The classes are great and there is a nice variety. The machines are all new and maintained. The only downside is I wish there was a women‘s only section. And they advertise as open 24hrs, this is simply not true.

This might deserve 5*. I’ll let you know when I have a membership conversation with a ‘fitness counselor’ in a few days and figure out what kind of membership options are available.
For now, though, I’ve been working out here for free on an introductory trial, and am very impressed. The gym is brand new (as of early 2010), and has an incredible variety of best-​in-​class machines, including some cool pieces of equipment I had never before seen. The space itself is very large, and since there are still only a very small number of members, it usually feels quite empty and there’s never a wait for anything.
The problem with assessing (and joining) a brand new gym, of course, is that you can’t predict what it will be like when its membership roster has stabilized, or how well the equipment will be maintained. I think I need to check out some other GoodLife clubs in town to get some sense of this…
Bonus points for being open 24 hours during the week, even though my days of working out at ridiculous hours are long behind me (in my 20s I would regularly go to the gym after I came home from a night of clubbing).
