Chasin’ Tails

I have edited my review, here’s why.
The CTV news report was misleading in the worst way. The staff member on film abusing that dog was prosecuted and charged by Chasin Tails months ago and of course fired.
I would like to apologize to Chasin Tails for jumping to conclusions. In light of the truth, I hope others will come forward, including CTV, and apologize as well.
I still, however, do not agree with prosecuting customers because of negative reviews and I trust you have learned from this experience.

I saw you removed your Facebook page in light of the CTV news story of abuse at your facility. I know in business you have to take the good with the bad — it’s how you handle the complaints that makes or breaks your business. You can’t hide or try to muzzle complainers. You admit you made a mistake and you try to fix it. Then you learn from it and never repeat the problem again. This could have been a great learning experience for you and you could have emerged better for it.
I’m giving you a poor review because of the horrific way you handled this problem.
I just hope the abusive staff member caught on video slamming that poor dog on the hard concrete and pinning him down in a fit of rage was fired.

I have been taking my two dogs to Chasin’ Tails every week for the past 8 years straight. I am writing this because I want people to really know how incredibly caring they are at Chasin’ Tails.
I never write testimonials or reviews but felt extremely compelled to do so, AGAIN, because people need to know how amazing they really are.
Being a customer for so many years definitely should have merit.
I love how they take care of our fur kids like they are their own.
When I travel I never worry as I know our pups are well taken care of and protected.
Their staff are fabulous and always make our fur kids feel so welcomed and loved.
They always go above and beyond what is expected.
I can’t say enough about Chasin’ Tails and will always be their biggest fan!
The owners are loving, caring, fantastic, amazing people who are so passionate about what they do. Chasin’ Tails is the BEST doggie day care facility in Calgary. Period!

I’m updating my review for chasing tails. I was recently contacted by the co-​owner about my review here. I am happy to see that businesses do read our reviews. He explained to me what went wrong and despite my husband’s disapproval, I am willing to give them last chance to redeem themselves. For trying to contact me once more despite after a few months have passed, this is why I’m giving them a 4 star for now. He offered a free grooming which I think is very fair. I like to support calgary based businesses. I am really glad to hear from the co-​owner and to reach out again after all this time, that counts for something.
keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully it will be a good experience for me and my baby.

Been taking my little fur baby here for the last 3 years. We have tried many other dog boarding facilities over the last 7 years and I can honestly say this is the place I can bring him and not have anxiety over leaving him. He is my baby!
As an avid traveller, it’s important that I know our dog is in great hands when we are away. He has been to Chasin Tails for short stays as well as much longer stays. He will be there again later next week and is part of the family there.
There new location is open concept and all the dogs are grouped by size and energy level. Since our fur baby is a little guy (6 pounds) he is with the smaller guys. He is free to roam, play, sleep and everything else his heart desires. He meets new buddies and enjoys himself. Whenever he is dropped off, he is overly excited to be visiting and I always joke he is going to his vacation spot to get away from us.
The staff have always been wonderful on site as well as when I make the reservation to book our baby in. They are great about letting us know how he is doing when we are away and they are great when I drop them a line to touch base.
I do wish they did report cards like other places, so you know what they did for there entire stay. That would give it 5+ stars.
We have had no issues and we have always had a pleasant experience for ourselves plus our fur baby at this facility.
My review is for boarding, since I have only used grooming a few times and it’s usually only a bath and nail trim.

We took our very excitable almost 3 year old Mini Schnauzer to Chasin Tails at the recommendation of our dog trainer and a few friends.
I am a very nervous fur mom and being he is so excitable with other dogs (he is a very friendly dog but just a little too excited to see, play and meet other dogs and people)
some dogs don’t handle that well.
We took him in for his 3 hour assessment which I really love that they do and then a grooming. We came back about 6 hours later (they let him play longer then the 3 hours because he was having fun) and although he wasn’t ready we got to watch other dogs have fun and being up there for over half an hour we saw how great the staff was in each section and how much fun the dogs were having. The staff never allowed a dog to dominate in there at all, they kept their status of pack leader in tact.
It was so fun to watch the dogs and the staff. It was busy but each set of dogs the attention that they needed. some just wanted to sleep and the staff let them.
They cleaned up after each accident right away.
I found the grooming a little pricey which is why they did not get 5 stars and I don’t like that there is no pricing for grooming.
We have to mention an amazing staff member that was great with us and our dog.
Her name is Lisa, really sweet girl and great attention to the dogs.
Very happy with Chain Tails! I would highly recommend them.

We took our 6 month old american eskimo to Chasin’ Tails when we had to go out of town for a couple nights. Before checking in, Chasin’ Tails had us bring our puppy in for a free 3 hour assessment to see how he reacted to the facility and the other dogs. I was impressed by this because it shows that they really care about all of the dogs in their care. They don’t use kennels here; the dogs are separated by size and energy level. They also have a viewing area upstairs so you can check up on your dog and see the facilities. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and our puppy was so happy and tired out from playing when we picked him up — he slept like an angel that night! The only reason I wouldn’t give Chasin’ Tails 5 stars is because we also had our puppy groomed while he was there and it wasn’t very well done — but the price for grooming is very reasonable! I will definitely be taking our dog back in the future!
