Love the Nutella Latte! Made with real Nutella, espresso made with freshly roasted Rosso beans and hand steamed milk, it’s a wonderful treat.

Great tasting coffee with friendly staff. Lattes are great. Iced Nutella lattes are a warm day is an excellent treat. They are also licensed to serve alcohol. The only real downside is it can be difficult to find a spot to sit when it’s busy. A good problem to have.

I love a great latte! When I travel for work I really enjoy finding and trying new coffee places. I found this place on Unilocal and I could just tell by he photos that I wasn’t going to be disappointed. The espresso is delicious! My latte was perfect! They have soy milk, almond milk, and I think the third was hemp if you don’t drink regular milk. Didn’t try the food because I was in a rush but maybe tomorrow. They only have two sizes for hot drinks, small and large. They told me the large gets 1.5 shots of espresso… So I got a double and it was perfect! If you like a stronger latte I would suggest ordering it that way. Enjoy! This place is delicious!

Hipster café! Service was top notch, but the food was a little pricy and the nutella latte wasn’t as good as expected. Grilled cheese sandwich and their soup of the day was good, but lacked dimension. I liked their décor!

I always see their feature latte sign outside the door so I stopped here while walking by and I have to say that the egg nog chai was a real treat on a chilly day! It was so smooth, flavourful and not too sweet. The place is pretty small so I wouldn’t count on getting a seat during busier times. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. I would want to come back and try the selection of sandwiches and the other feature lattes.

Their specialty lattes are to die for. While, their pecan bars and delightfully multi-coloured macaroons, featuring: mint chocolate and coconut(among many other flavours) would more than satisfy any sweet tooth. For lunch, one can be comforted by a classic grilled cheese with a side of bacon jam. Or a bacon cheddar scone at any time of day. But be aware! The scones are made fresh in the morning and are often completely cleared out by the afternoon so don’t get your hopes up too high for getting one really late in the day. In terms of DeVille’s being a great place to work, the location on 1st Street seems to specifically cater to the businesses nearby. So there is not ample seating and no outlets, as far as I can see. In any case, there’s also no free Wi-Fi. But that’s not a huge problem since the Wi-Fi from David’s Tea is open and very strong. It’s not a place for the stay and write a while, but rather for the get your fix and bring it back to your office or stay for a short while category. Yet, I don’t find a problem with this since that’s what this location caters to and they certainly deliver. The staff are very friendly and surprisingly awake at 7:30AM. I give them kudos for that! I just love this treasure of a place.

You know its a good coffee shop when there’s a line in the morning and the baristas are handling the morning rush with style! Came here on a recommendation by a friend as it was nearby where we were. Came in for breakfast, and got myself a Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and a Macchiato. The macchiato was amazing, beautifully made and quick despite the rush! The sandwich was lacking a bit, as it was just an english muffin with egg and bacon pressed in a panini press! Bacon was good, but was a previously prepared, frozen sandwich. Overall a good coffee shop, but would probably stick to just the drinks they have!

Absolutely LOVE Deville Coffee and their Carmel Latte! They are a bit on the pricey side with their pastries and sandwiches, however the rare time I do visit them, its usually for a beverage and treat to go. Worth the price for an excellent coffee. The staff is friendly and nice every time I have visited. As I mentioned I have never had an opportunity to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, but its always steady with people chatting or working at a table. Great location by Fashion Central and 8th Ave if you are walking. Will be back again and hopefully I will finally try the Nutella latte I keep hearing about.

Pretty and modern Café. Haven’t tried much of their coffe(silly I know) but I come here to some books of mine. There aren’t much outlets in the vicinity so come with your MacBook or iPhone charged.

Update to my previous review. Been here at least once very couple of months over the past few years due to proximity to our office and everyone schedules meetings there. In a nutshell: — Staff/service has improved greatly from when they first opened up. — Yes, the Nutella latte is worth trying at least once! However, I actually prefer the caramel latte on their menu. And if I’m being REALLY honest, my favourite latte in Calgary is the Spanish Latte at Caffe Artigiano!!! But yes, their americanos and espressos are better than say, Starbucks across the street. — I don’t understand why their food is so overpriced. Yes, it is tastier /fancier than Subway, especially for being pre-made stuff(wraps, pastries, soup), but +$ 8 for a tuna wrap the size of a toddler’s forearm seems a bit outrageous. Go for the location/atmosphere and try their Nutella latte.(Please don’t bother with the macarons.) Then go buy lunch at Thai Tai next door… ;)

There is a reason why deVille is so popular… great service, really good coffee and snacks/sandwiches are among them. It’s a great place to have quick meetings over coffee and get out of the office for a short while.

We grabbed a couple lattes here this morning and they were both very good. Quick and friendly service in a nice shop.

This place is good but pretty expensive. $ 50 took off the hunger’s edge, gave us a warm feeling with either a wine or a latte and left a sweet finish with a macaroon. Steep when what was going to be dinner turned into a between lunch and dinner snack. The food was good quality and fairly healthy(ignore the drinks and dessert!) so all and all that’s not bad if you know what you’re getting yourself into. They DID card me for wine which was sweet as I’m now closer to 40 than 20 as my sister likes to point out and I could biologically have a child that is old enough to legally drink which is also very scary but makes it even more sweet that the barista felt I might be questionable. Anyway I wouldn’t hesitate to return if I was close but I don’t know if it’s worth a trip out of my way either.

* Bad luck * I think I had bad luck here. I came once and got an espresso that was ok, and showed potential. So I revisited a second time and then was convinced that they simply aren’t consistent. Service the first time was friendly, but a bit clueless as they couldn’t get the cash register to work correctly. But the espresso was passable. On the second visit there was a different team that was even more clueless. Again the same issues with operating the cash register, but also bad issues with the espresso. It was underextracted which resulted in a really sour and thin taste. Meh. I think their grind is a bit off, and perhaps their machine is also running below normal temp. Overall a very disappointing espresso. Photo:

Absolutely LOVE Deville Coffee! Their Nutella lattes are to die for, and they also have the most delicious French macarons. Yum yum yum! Such a lovely spot to meet friends for coffee and a chat — Fashion Central is usually pretty quiet, and there is plenty of seating.

OMG I will be coming back here as soon as I can. The Nutella macaroons and Nutella lattes are AMAZING. Staff are really friendly and I was pleasantly surprised by the heart in the foam of my latte. I crave Nutella lattes on a regular basis now, so I can’t wait until I’m back in this city for the summer. $ 5 for a large latte may seem expensive to some but I really don’t find it that much more expensive than Starbucks and it tastes way better! The ambiance is trendy and they also offer alcoholic lattes and serve wine and beer! «Coffee is what I dink until it’s acceptable to drink liquor» I love this place!

Hmmm no electrical outlet ruined my plan to work on laptop even though they have free wifi. The place was busy on a weekday afternoon but I managed to find a seat anyways. The atmosphere was cozy and it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends over coffee. I got the Nutella latte as per Unilocal friends suggestions. It wasn’t too sweet and I can definitely taste the Nutella. It’s not my favorite. I found it to be like a light nutty mocha. Needed something a little more powering. Like more chocolate! I also got the Sicilian sandwich. It was toasted and delicious with layers of meat. And the side salad with citrus dressing was amazing! Total for drink and sandwich came to be $ 14. A bit pricey but really good quality and a great vibe.

In October I often suffer extreme cases of DENIAL, evident in how even at zero degree weather, I still order iced coffees. So when I strolled in here and ordered an iced coffee and forgetting it wasn’t summer anymore, I noticed the fancy and chique layout of the coffee shop. Heh, artisan coffees. Everyone looked like they were models for the things the were holding in their hands: MacBook, glass of wine, alpaca gloves, and of course DeVille coffees. What a silly way to describe the crowd but seriously this wasn’t any derelict Starbucks. Anyways, I also ordered a breakfast sandwich along with my iced coffee. When I got both I ate my sandwich first. It was OK. Personally a good breakfast sandwich has to be GHETTO all the way, McDonalds, Denny’s, someone who uses their secret butter stash to cookl you breakfast because they like you that much… The breakie sandwich I got was dry and the eggs/bread/ham didn’t meld, it seemed like they were here cramped strangers in a public transit bench. Dang, this is a lot to rant about breakfast sandwiches. BUT Great iced coffee. I forgot to ask for a shot of syrup and noticed how the bitterness didn’t put me off and made me chug the whole glass down. I rarely savour my iced coffee after birth, but I haplessly chewed on those caffeine morsels back to my car. Unilocal’s 30 Day Challenge 17⁄30
