Focus West Optometry has proudly been serving the West Hills area of Calgary since we opened in 1997. As a full scope practice, your ocular health is our primary concern. Our optometrists use their years of experience and the latest in diagnostic technology to help detect and monitor eye disease. Beyond that, we also pride ourselves on providing you and your family with excellent treatment for eye health issues of all varieties.

Derek, Julie G.

Business Owner

Dr. Gaume graduated from Pacific University in Oregon in 1992. After five years as an associate for a group practice here in Calgary, he started Focus West Optometry in 1997 so he could better serve the vision needs of the community. He is currently the team Optometrist for the Calgary Flames as well as The Canadian National Long Track Speed Skating Team. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Gaume can usually be found on the golf course.

Dr. Lee-​Ying graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario in 2007, proudly serving as the president of the Canadian Association of Optometry Students during the 2005 – 2006 school year. After graduation, she joined Focus West Optometry. Dr. Lee-​Ying has a special interest in contact lenses and is looking forward to participating in upcoming eye care missions in Asia.
