Right near where I live and I have to say I am very impressed with this place. There are drop-in classes all the time and they are extremely affordable. I’ve seen drop in yoga classes go from $ 12 – 20, no here though. $ 6 will buy you a drop in class for any of their classes as 10 class punch cards are also available! I was actually quite impressed with the yoga quality, although I wasn’t expecting much because this isn’t a yoga studio. However, I was pleasantly surprised, the instructor was fantastic. She really broke down a lot of the yoga poses, which is great for people just learning and it reinforces it for those that have already learned it. I’ve yet to try out their swimming pool or work-out center and since I’m only here for the summer I probably won’t get to. I will however do a lot more yoga, and I want to try some of their other classes!

City owned and operated center. Bit dingy, but close to home. Avoid cheap swims on Sunday — throngs of people, kids and some questionable individuals with even more suspect hygiene.

This is a city run facility with a awesome pool, small-ish gym, and some common fitness/aquatic classes. I haven’t been in the pool yet but it is definitely the selling feature of this facility. The reason I go here is for their gym; drop is passes are $ 6(cheap) during the week and $ 2(cheaper) on Sundays from 2−4pm. This place happens to be super close to my house so instead of hulling everything downtown for a weekend workout, I just drop in here. They have four treadmills, four elliptical, 2 stair masters, and 4 bikes; so not much cardio equipment. You have to sign up to use a machine on a white board in 25 minute increments, and often, there is a wait-list. There are a few TV’s overhead these machines for those who need the distraction, however I don’t think you can hear them(I’m not 100% sure on this though). They have a really decent selection of free weights and weight machines that I personally find to be sufficient for my needs. If you go in off-busy hours, it’s nice to have the weights area to yourself. It’s a small room with wall to wall mirrors but it does the trick. Definitely not a bad drop in gym. You have to have a code to get into the gym so if you do drop in, make sure you ask the front desk for the code. Enjoy :)
