So-​so. It started off bad and just continued from there. While she was filing my nail extensions it kept hurting (never happened before) and then when she went to give me the detail on the picture I provided, it totally didn’t match so we had to completely change the look. She did however try her best to please me with all of my complaints, but I just wasn’t overly impressed on my final result. Wanted to leave a tip as a «you tried your best, thanks for trying» but they don’t add tips to Visa so I was stuck leaving a horrible tip because I had no cash.

This place is overpriced and the service is terrible!
I came in for a pedicure and a shellac french manicure.
The pedicure was good but when it came time for the manicure the poor girl doing my nails had absolutely no clue how to do a french tip, she struggled and it was painful to watch but I kept thinking she might get better. Finally I let her know that unfortunatelly it wasnt going to work, she definitely knew what I meant and called another girl and basically begged her to finish the manicure. The other girl kept pretending not to understand her and finally just walked away and started playing on her ipad.
When I went to the cashier, I tried to explain what had happened, but she just stared at me and I felt like she was pretending not to understand. One day later not only do I have the worst french manicure Ive ever had in my life (even counting ones done by myself) but the suppossed shellac is already peeling! I will never be back.

Worst pedicure ever.
Went for a shellac pedicure. When I inspected after I got home I noticed polish on my skin and the worst part is that after 2 weeks the color totally faded and I just peeled it off by hand. I will never give them my money again. I’ve since got a shellac pedi at another place… it’s been over a month, the color still looks fabulous and it isn’t peeling off.

Like I mentioned in my check-​in. I’ve never been this impressed. This place isn’t fancy but they are clean, amazingly sincere, and the service is excellent. I’m not one to commit to just one salon, but ever since I’ve been coming here I haven’t gone anywhere else! I feel good and welcomed the minute I walk in the door. My service lady is Mai. She does my nails, waxing and eye lashes.
Another awesome thing about this salon is that they open late. My appointment started at 7 pm. The staff will stay until you are satisfied. No rushing.

A great location and lots of nail colours. My favourite technician is Lee. She consults and double checks and is always friendly. I usually go every four weeks and have never lost a nail. She offers other services but not in a pushy way. When she is not available due to my lack of planning they do a great job of fitting me in. I do regular gel fills and the occasional pedicure.

by the way — I recommend this salon if you are looking for a fast n’ cheap service! the place wont wow you with their interior design or professionalism. Just a heads up!
This is the place to get your before-​event needs together! I wouldn’t recommend this for a relaxing spa day.

I would suggest getting a tool box, with your full name on it. The employee sanitized my tools by rubbing alcool and putting them back in the box. Not sure if they oven sanitize tools, i didn’t see any in the salon. If you get a pedicure, please make sure that you pull your pants up to your knees as their product can stain your clothes…

There are a ton of nail salons in Calgary, and I’ve probably visited 95% of the ones located in the SW. Phamtastic is one of the stronger ones, particularly when balancing price and quality.
Don’t get me wrong — this is not «frills» spa-​type shop that charges a fortune for everything, nor is it a bargain basement quality place either.
Here are a few of the positives I especially appreciate:
–You can purchase your own tool kit that they keep for you and will only use on you — no sharing, no sketchy «did they sanitize that thoroughly after the last girl» concerns.
–They are more full service than average, offering the standard array of nails, (e.g., gel, shellac and polish) as well as esthetics (e.g., waxing and tinting), permanent makeup and lash extensions.
–Unlike most of the nail salons I’ve been to, they offer me coffee or water. I never take it, but always appreciate the ask.
–You can tell it is well managed. For example, on several occasions I’ve been in and had a manager-​type lady pleasantly breeze by and do a quality check. I appreciate this aspect of service a lot.
Like many such salons, the quality and consistency can vary depending on which technician you are paired with. I have consistently visited Danielle for waxing and pedicures, and she is both pleasant and helpful. I also appreciate her work and her enthusiasm.
I don’t have any particular drawbacks to mention, which for me is a very good thing. Overall, a solid nail salon.

Have you ever walked away from a pedi with a fungus?
Well, guess what, you will never get a yucky foot disease here, do you know why? Because, for $ 5 you can purchase a kit which consists of a box and your own exclusive nail tools! After your mani or pedi then your tools are sterilized and stored on the premises for you until your next visit. Pretty awesome, eh?
Phamtastic also offers eyelash extensions, permanent make-​up, waxing, facials and couples pedicures. (There’s two chairs set in a private room.)
