I just picked up my most recent purchase from sol optix. I have to say they have only gotten better. Excellent service and great prices, very knowledgable, friendly staff. I’m so impressed with the way they have treated me as a customer over the years. They accept many benefits programs for direct billing and have a huge selection of frames to choose from. Stop by the store and see for yourself, you won’t want to shop anywhere else.

This is one of the best places to get glasses in the city. A large selection of frames for both reading and sunglasses. The staff was top notch. Very friendly and informative. They had my frames ready within 48 hours since I was going out of town and emailed my receipt for easy submission through my health insurance. They threw in collapsible cases and a cleaning kit for no charge.
I will be returning next year for my sunglasses.

So originally I had 5 stars on my review because the first pair of glasses purchased were ready really quick and the girl helping us was great.
We went in again and had a drastically different experience — it was as if it was a whole different store and the attitude of the people working was not friendly and inviting like our first experience. We ordered a pair of safety glasses on a Monday and they said they would be in on a Friday. On Friday they then said they would be in on the next Wednesday. Wednesday came, no glasses again and now the message is that they don’t know when they will be in because there is no timeline put on safety glasses. We understand that safety glasses may be a bit more involved, but not giving a time as to when they will be done is just plain wrong and very poor service. When expressing our dissatisfaction, the response was not to try to help the situation — we were brushed off with an «it is what it is and you’ll have to deal with it» attitude.
Very unfortunate to see such inconsistency in service from a 5+ star experience to a 1 star level.

Owner and staff (knowledgable and tasteful) went above and beyond to help me find the right frame. Ordered it on Wednesday before closing and picked it up on Friday afternoon, incredible!

Its rare you got into a place a great treated with so much respect and be made to feel special. There is make you feel good to get a sale and then there is what these guys do. They go out of their way to make you feel important and make you feel like you’re getting the best because you genuinely are. they spend a lot of time lot of effort with me today and we’re very patient with each person in the store came and was able to help with the decision and it was great to be treated with such respect and the feel so special in the store. the variety love frames in the store was awesome with different colors and styles to suit your preference. they are quite up to date on fashion styles and we’re willing to lend a hand to someone who doesn’t have any clue what’s going on. Went in to get glasses for my graduation and they definitely understood the importance of this day and how important the look would be. thank you so much for the time that you spent with me.

Today I walked in the store needing a pair of sunglasses for my sunny vacation starting the following day. To my delight, I was treated really well and felt very special. The sales representative, Candice was accommodating and knowledgeable about all the products.
I would highly recommend this optical store for the expertise of the employees and the amazing customer experience.

INCREDIBLE SERVICE!!! Ive used Eye Glasses for the past 8 years and NEVER had such an amazing Service. First time iI stepped in the store the service was amazing, the girl who assisted me took 10 minutes to show me 10 – 15 pairs which i LOVED (that never happens so fast) based on my style and Face shape she knew right away what glasses suit be best! she did an amazing job (cant remeber her name, very short long hair and wears glasses) ALI was also there who assisted me as well and was AMAZING and SO comprehensive! next day my glasses where there.!! I couldnt believe it ! he understood my Urge right away. certainly went WAY BEYOND and assisted me with other Eye details. He Even reccomended me an optometrist and helped with all the process. so greatfull!

The customer service is amazing! I am a fan. The lady that helped me pick out a pair of sunglasses was knowledgable, knew what was in style, and so honset (which I appreciated). I took my sweet time selecting a frame and she insisted that I be totally and completley satisfied with it before I buy. Even though they were pretty busy, I loved that I was not rushed into picking.

Got a great deal on a new pair of Prada framed prescription glasses. Staff was friendly and helpful without being over bearing. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great in-​store service. Frame selection is extensive, current and high quality. Staff are knowledgable and helpful. Purchased 5 pair of prescription glasses for family in the past year and have been very pleased with service.

Based on the glowing Unilocal reviews I sent my daughter there for new glasses. But the staff that served us were inexperienced. There was a good selection of frames. They forgot a measurement and we had to return again to the store for the measurements. Then they also said the glasses would probably be ready the next day but when we called back four days later the staff did not put in the effort to check if they were ready and just asked us to call back later. Then we called back and they give us a different person who said he would call us back in an hour and even three hours later he never called back. In the end a call came from another person in the staff to finally say they had the glasses. When we came to pick up the glasses the person just handed the glasses over and then took a call and just asked if they were okay so we just said yes and walked out. There was no attempt by the person to actually check that they were probably adjusted and fitting properly. Because of all this we were not filled with much confidence to go back for another pair with a more complicated perscription.
Despite the disappointment we were happy with the glasses and the staff was very friendly

I read the Unilocal reviews when looking for where to buy eyeglasses in the city, which is how I found Sol Optix. As soon as I walked in the front door, the owner greeted me and asked if I wanted help looking for some new glasses. His many years of experience showed, as he pulled a number of different styles and brands for me to try, most of which really suited my face shape and style taste.
I hadn’t yet purchased the Groupon for the store, as I had wanted to be sure I would find something I liked. The owner offered me an even better deal, which really made me feel valued as a customer.
Would recommend to anyone looking for eyeglasses or sunglasses in Calgary, in any range of brands or prices.

I have never seen a selection of eye glass frames this big before. The service was top notch and very friendly. We went through a large number of eye glasses and prescription sunglasses to find the right ones.
I had not replaced my prescription sunglasses for years and was worried that I could not find a style that had a bit of a wrap to it. No problem here either!

Professional, knowledgable, and amazing selection. Compared to the big box optical stores, Sol Optix has figured out how to not only challenge the likes of the national chains, they’ve figured out a way to beat them. I’ve been using the «clearly» website for some time to purchase frames and lenses, but you never know what you’re getting. SO runs great online coupon deals that put its pricing right inline with the online glasses sites. Not to mention they have a ton of staff on hand who know what they are talking about. Their model is to build repeat business and they have accomplished this with me… I will be back!

Really top notch service.
I found the frames to be alittle on the pricey side BUT they are brand name glasses and if I am paying for service then its certainly worth it.
Trying on glasses is really a painful process, sifting through the multitude of frames which are shelved in glass cases could be a bit overwhelming and for the first 10minutes I was in the store doing that, it really was!
I was then helped by a lovely young lady who asked me of my tastes, had me try on a few extremes so she could get a sense of my likes and dislikes and patiently selected over 20 pairs for me to try on until we had found the pair I liked best.
I then went on to the owners perhaps? Who computed the price for me and suggested lenses for me… again, $ 270 for lenses a little pricey BUT the quality of the lenses and the coating honestly cannot be disputed. I have not cost compared so I dont know what other prices are like but I am truly very happy with the level of service I received. The only reason they have 4 stars and not 5 is because I havent received my receipt yet (but it’s only been 1 working day).

The customer service was great — no high pressure. I was assisted by everyone in the store and am thrilled with my glasses!

If I could give 10 stars of 5 I would.
We called ahead with our dealfind vouchers to let them know there were 5 of us needing glasses — a total of 7 pairs of glasses — wanting service late on a Friday afternoon. When we arrived at 5 PM one of their staff who was supposed to leave at 4 had opted to stay to help out. Brownie point earned by employee!
It took about 90 minute for us to choose 7 frames. The staff was wonderful in offering opinions and making suggestions and validating why they were saying what they were.
These guys know their stuff. Hubby has a heavy prescription. They recommended a way to lighten the lenses that would cost a bit less and look good in the frames he chose. Another Brownie point earned.
The staff knew we were working with the vouchers and a family budget with no employer medical benefits so they continued to make recommendations that would save us money. More Brownie points earned! (I think we’re up to at least 10 by now.)
This is not a one-​hour place — so the following week we got a phone call saying all of our glasses were ready. We went to pick them up, expecting that the arms would need adjusting as they have always done in the past with glasses from our optometrist. Not so! The difference is these people know how to fit frames properly to avoid most post-​production adjustments — so picking up 7 pairs of glasses took about 10 minutes — mostly for us to ooh and ahh about how sexy we looked with our new designer glasses, to gush over the staff and the out-​of-​this-​world service they gave us, and to promise we would be back!
I’ve always avoided designer anything in the past — I just don’t like paying for a name. The price we paid for our glasses — well, we certainly didn’t pay for any names and we still got the best service we’ve ever had buying glasses.
P. S. all glasses from sol optix have a 1 year warranty! Bonus and more Brownie points!
