this place was brutal! my boyfriend and I needed emergency hair cuts before a last minute event and couldn’t get into our regular places. well his hair is soo uneven(he gets it buzzed it’s not hard) after my stylest sprayed me in the face SEVERALTIMES while Washing my hair(and not just a bit, at one point she sprayed in my mouth and eyea) with no apology. we finally get the chair(and I’m soaking wet) I explan and show her a picture of exactly what I want(I have a pixie cut, and get the same every time but new stylest I get it) she goes and grabs the clippers and shaves off my ‘side burns’! when I looked shocked she asked what was wrong and I said that’s not what I wanted she starts the top. when I tell her to make it even she says«you said you wanted to keep them make up your mind» I did but I can’t go around with only one! then I tell her I don’t want product In as I’m just going home to shower anyway, and she put product that was like cement! worst service and cut ever. months later and I still look like a boy.

This place is terrible. For starters, it’s not even clean. The place is actually filthy. I heard good things about this place through a friend and I’m still shocked at why she recommend this place. I went to get my eyebrows done and I literally cried afterwards because the lady did SUCH A TERRIBLEJOB. She should not be allowed to touch anyone’s eyebrows ever. I have thick & long Persian eyebrows… and when I walked out of there my brows were as thin as thread, COMPLETELY uneven, even the length had been altered. I’m still completely shocked at how this place stays in business. Don’t go here, don’t spend your money here, don’t be fooled by the cheap prices. I have been paying the price for over a month.

DONOTGOHEREFOREYEBROWS!!! I finally had my eyebrows at the perfect shape and size. I’m new to Calgary from Toronto, so they had grown out quite a bit as I was in search of somewhere to get them done. my specific instructions were I DONOTWANTTHEMANYTHINNER! THICKERTHEBETTER(as I have very light hair and they do not grow very much) and I WANT A NICEPOINTEDARCH! NOROUNDEDARCH. although my eyebrows were grown in and messy, you could very clearly see the outline of what it should look like and where my arch is. I left there with eyebrows SOTHIN you can barely see them, and absolutely ZERO arch. I have no idea how I am even going to fix this terrible job. if you don’t understand how to do eyebrows, DONTDOTHEM!

This pains me, as the actual job of the treading is done so well here, and I have enjoyed both aestheticians who have worked on my brows(which I don’t trust to just anyone) — but the place is so filthy, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. The last time I was there, I noticed mounds of hair on the studio floor(especially towards the back room, where the threading happens) and there were numerous shipping boxes of product stacked high — stuff like that should be in a back storage room, and not within sight of customers. I hopped up on the table for the treading, but hesitated to lay back, as the towel looked like it was spotted from the day’s waxing. I was assured by the aesthetician that it was«OK» and that the«stains weren’t recent»(!). There was wax all over the counter top, and sticks which had been used from previous waxings just left on the counter. I’m weirded out by stuff like that! This is a case where the problems with the environment trumps the great job they do. It’s really a shame.

I have been to this place for the first time before Christmas. Good point is that they are really flexible with the appointment time. My eyebrows look really good, and for the price, I am pretty satisfied of them. However. The esthetic bed where you lay to get waxed was dirty. I kept my coat to lie on it. The girl put some wax in my hair, it was all sticky. The salon is really busy and it is really tight to go to the waxing little room at the back. I mean, it is really cheap for Calgary and my brows look good, but it wasn’t A1. I would go back, because the price/quality is not that bad, but should they rise their price, I would go somewhere else.

A few weeks ago, I decided to grow out my eyebrows after deciding that I needed a new shape for them. I was going to wait another week or two, but just couldn’t do it. I was becoming paranoid that people were staring at me, and thinking I had ‘forgotten’ to pluck. Anyhow, I was shopping at Chinook Centre over the weekend, and stopped by Merle Norman to check pricing on waxing… then I recalled my best friend’s story of getting a few layers of delicate eyebrow skin taken off by an esthetician there. Needless to say,. I moved on. Across from them, is Style Creation Salon & Spa. The storefront has many hair products, and styling tools. I happened to see a staff member standing at the front of the salon, so asked her if they do threading. She said yes, so I walked right in. Five minutes later, Nicole ushered me into a small back room and asked me how I wanted my brows to look. She laid me down, and all of a sudden I started to panic a bit. I asked her how much it hurt, and she told me that, honestly, it’s more painful than waxing, but provides more precise, and better results. I was surprised to find out that, it actually didn’t hurt at all! I would say no more than 3 out of 10. But keep in mind, I have been plucking for years. When I looked at my eyebrows, about 7 minutes later, I couldn’t believe how good they looked! I didn’t really have much to work with in the first place, and Nicole had somehow made them appear fuller. So thank you Nicole — I wish I had met you a long time ago. I’d also like to menton that they charge $ 15.00 for the service, which a good deal compared to some downtown salons who charge $ 20 for the same procedure.
