If you need a swimsuit super fast for like a holiday or something Swimco can be helpful. They have many suits in many styles and may popular brand names. Unfortunately, I cannot give this place top points because a) All the stores are standardized b) service is somewhat impersonal. Every time I go I get asked the same questions and told the same things, «Are you going away somewhere?» and«make sure the bottoms fit snug because they stretch out in the water». After awhile this gets really annoying. Yes, they are pricy considering everyone will end up with the same suit as you. I really like Seafolly, for example, but everyone has them! Why would I spend $ 200 on a suit that makes me look the same as everyone else on the beach? I think not.

I had never been to this Swimco, so while I was in the area I wanted to check it out for a new swimsuit. One of the women working greeted me and my Husband right away. As I browsed around she asked if I needed help finding any sizes, which I didn’t. She pointed out that they had some items on sale all around the store. I found a very cute suit for $ 30! Under half price! As well as a pair of surf shorts for $ 25 and they had a lot of sizes! So as I was trying my stuff on, she was nice enough to make conversation with my Husband, asking if we had gone anywhere for the holidays, were we going anywhere in particular in the future. I thought it was nice of her, since he didn’t just have to stand around and wait for me. She checked on me while I was trying things on and got me a different size no problem. I was super impressed with the service all around, it made it easy to shop here! This place does tend to have mainly branded suits, Roxy, Billabong, Ripcurl, Vix, all which cost $ 80 to $ 200 for a suit. But obviously you can get some sweet deals here! This is a decent place to pick up rashguards too and any swim accessories you need. I was very happy with my Swimco experience, the staff was all very nice and helpful! I will definitely come back here.

Being the avid swimmer that I am, I can attest to the fact that a good, high-quality swimsuit, that you’re planning on using for more than oh, I dunno a vacation in Hawaii, is gonna run you around $ 70-$ 80. I can also attest to the fact that, like a lot of avid swimmers, I had been brainwashed into thinking that the ONLY ‘good’ swimming suits available on the market could only be purchased at Swimco. Well, considering I recently moved back to Calgary and stepped foot into Swimco after about 5 years, I can now tell you that Swimco is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Yes they have more types and styles of swimsuits than any single store around, but the prices attached to each suit are ridiculous. We’re talking around $ 120 per swimsuit! When I was living in the States, I bought NIKE swimsuits for $ 35 Canadian!!! Okay, so I know that’s not the norm, but I’m just saying that Swimco is NOT the only place you can buy designer, high-quality swimming swag. Now that I know this, I started looking around in other stores, and yes the styles are limited, as is the sizing, and yes, I often have to visit more than a couple of stores, but I end up getting the swimsuit for about half price! I definitely think the time is worth the savings! Swimco automatically gets 3 stars because I’ll admit, their selection is unlike any other swimming store in the city. But they say patience is a virtue and I’ve just learned that patience and persistence saves dinero baby, so I’m gonna spend the extra hour to save the extra cash!
