All things irish and scots with a wee bit of english tossed in, that’s my impression of the Scottish Shoppe. While there’s a few whimsical items just like Mike Myers’ famous SNL skits, Jason G. hit it dead on that it’s the no-crap go-to place. Kilts, hats, tartans, maps and heraldry records and so much more, if you’re a menber of any proud highland clan, this is where to go. I’m not sure about bagpipes or pots of gold, but given the extensive inventory, I wouldn’t be surprised. A little bonus is their little corner ‘o United Kingdom food goodies. It’s my main source for this awesome british chocolate bar and my odd craving for haggis(yes, yes, I know… honestly, it just sounds weird.) Accordingly it also seems to be the heart of the Scottish community’s social scene. It’s the best place to keep track of Robbie Burns Day, and all other such things Scots. I like to walk by once in awhile just to see what’s going on. So all said, it’s one of my more unusual and favorite stores in this town. It’d be nice if they could sell some whiskeys or inflatable sheep, but that’s better left to the domain of alcohol and sex shops(besides, I’m kidding). Remember. If it isn’t scottish, it’s crrrrap!

One of Mike Myers’ characters on SNL used to bellow«If it’s not Scottish, it’s crap!» If you share that sentiment, then the Scottish Shoppe is your no-crap go-to place. They boast a wide array of authentic Scottish goods, everything from cable knit sweaters to bagpipe accessories, right down to a large sampling of the iconic kilt. All the Scottish you can shake a sheep at, under one roof. Along with the selection of apparel and accessories, there’s also a modest selection of Scottish music and sweets. So, for your next ceilidh or celebration of all things Scottish, check out this aptly named shop.

By no means am I a Scottish connoisseur, but I know a great store when I see one and The Scottish Shoppe is all that it promises to be: Everything Scottish. With more kilts, Celtic jewellery and highland dresses than you could use in one lifetime, The Scottish Shoppe has a selection unlike any other store in town. Plus I couldn’t help but grin when I walked into the ‘candy corner’ as I call it. An entire corner of the shop devoted completely to Scottish candy! Truffles, chocolate bars, toffee and similar Scottish goods had me salivating on the spot. The second we stepped foot inside the store we were greeted by a wonderful Scottish man. The service was fantastic and the selection is unparalleled. You’ve got to check these guys out!

The Scottish Shoppe should make Scots and the people who love them very happy. These guys have everything you can think of from clan coffee mugs to whistles to scarves to books to haggis… They even have a wee taste of Irish items in the new location as well including a few Guiness items. They have a full deep freeze packed with Scottish delicacies and is definitely worth going to if you’re looking for something different or just want to pick up some cool Scottish stuff.
