I am a dabbler in the quilting world, and having this shop so close to my neighbourhood is a fantastic treat! The ladies in this shop are super friendly, I always get a hello as soon as I walk in. I am by no means a quilting fanatic, I’m a beginner at best but I never feel snubbed or incompetent in this shop. Staff are more than willing to help, give suggestions, tips and offer endless encouragment! The store is beautifully setup, the quilts all over the store really make it hard for me to resist the fabrics. They have an eye for beautiful fabrics and I also love the way they organize the fabrics in the store. I love the fabric bundles they offer, it’s a great way to get a variety of different fabrics. I was looking for a specifc quilting book when I stopped in here recently, they didn’t have it but offered to order it, they took down my info and ordered the book for me. It came in quick, and when I went to pick it up the woman working was all excited about other new books they had and in turn got me all interested in some other quilting project books. I love that when I leave this shop I always feel so excited and energized about my projects! This store also offers classes, check their website if you are interested. One thing I wish this place had was a reasonably priced drop in sewing night/weekend afternoon. I think it would be so nice to just come in and work on projects with other quilters/sewers — both the staff and clientelle of Traditional Pastimes have a wealth of knowledge to share. All in all, I love this shop!
