Amazing! If your in or around the Chester area, this is a MUST. Eggs Benny, omelettes, breakfast wraps… Everything is made with fresh, delicious ingredients that are worth every bite and penny. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly. The location is phenomenal. I cannot recommend enough. I drive 30 mins just to go here and I would drive more. Do not miss out on this Chester gem!!!

Good for everyday meal. Not too many choices on the food but sufficient enough for a Café. Need to keep in mind that this is not a restaurant but a friendly local Café. Good place for casual meals.

Great location and very good food. Had a Tuscan chicken panini with spicy sweet potato soup, it was excellent. Gluten-free options available. Try the variety of squares and freshly-baked cookies for desert or with coffee, my favourite is the peanut butter crispy square.

One of the nicest little cafes I have ever been in. I found the service a bit slow only because the place was totally packed. The food was superb.

What a delight to discover a slice of heaven in Nova Scotia. Wonderful chatting with Lynda, great food and superb coffee. We gave the flat white 10 out of 10. If you visit Kiwi Café, flat white is a must. Felt like we were at home, in more ways than one. Our cake and coffee excellent, and full menu looked wonderful, with all day breakfast an obvious attraction. Hope your success continues long into the future!

We asked for eggs over easy and they were well done. The coffee was watery and lacked flavor. The breakfast sandwich was supposed to come with ham and arrived with bacon. We were charged $ 1.50 for 2 extra pieces of toast. The English muffin was excellent.

Why, oh why, is the Kiwi Café so far away?! This adorable little café in Chester hits all the right spots for me, and I would love to frequent it more often. With friendly service, great food, and a really nice atmosphere, it would be a mistake not to visit when in the area. I got myself a breakfast sandwich, with home-fries and a mango smoothie.(All day breakfast, what up!) The sandwich was on an english muffin with bacon, egg, and cheddar. The egg was cooked perfect, the bacon was real and crispy, and the cheddar was delightfully melted. Home fries were also wonderful, lightly seasoned. Mango smoothie was tasty as well! A very happy breakfast for me. They also have a small grocery section selling jams and other such items that I unfortunately, did not take the time to check out! However, there will always be next time. Until then, Kiwi Café.

Very crowded and nice friendly service. My mixed nut square was a generous portion and soooo full of nuts. However my partners cake was oily and kind of flavourless. Our daughter ordered fish tacos that were not great. A big piece of and a bit of cucumber on a taco made soggy from the sauce. Again kind of bland. I would be willing to have the Australian coffees, the Flat White and the Long Black again but we would probably forego the food.

Reason for visit: Lunch & coffee. I ate: Shrimp Quesadilla(Daily special), Americano, Brownie … … My wife and I stopped here on our bike tour of the South Shore. The food was excellent, and although there was a mix-up with our order, it was handled very well. ((Atmosphere)): Fun café feel. When we were there, there was a large sunny patio, filled with the well-to-do locals. ((Food)): The Quesadilla I had was superb, filled with a generous portion of of creamy shrimp, bits of fruits and peppers, with subtle Mexican seasoning. I’d definitely recommend the brownies as well. The Americano I had certainly passed. ((Service)): There was some sort of a mix-up, and we ended up waiting a long time for our food; however, the owner immediately came over to us(even though they were extremely busy) and told us that our lunch was on the house. After the meal we got coffee and brownies, and offered to pay for those at least — but they insisted on giving those to us for free as well. We were very pleased overall — even though the staff seemed a bit frantic trying to sort it out. … … (+): — Excellent food, brownies. — Handled a screw-up really well. (-): — Service was a bit frantic.

Based on all the good reviews in Unilocal,we stopped here for lunch on a sunny afternoon in Chester. My friends ordered the fish cakes, the veggie burger and the grilled veggie panini. All the meals came with balsamic vinagrette leaf salad on the side. I ordered the pear, brie and arugula grilled sandwich on orange raisin bread, and honestly, it was to die for. It was, seriously, the best sandwich I have eaten in a restaurant, in a long, long time! I really liked the Kiwi Café, a cheerful spot with brightly painted walls. Our server was so friendly and helpful. She also loves the pear, brie and arugula sandwich, and I am really glad she recommended it to me!

Last Sunday I set out on a little motorcycle cruise, and found myself hungry and coming into Chester. I remember seeing the Kiwi Café and thinking it was a catchy name and looked like a nice place, so I decided to stop there for brunch. I’ll admit, I was a little annoyed at how long it took before someone came to take my order, but to be fair, they were busy, and I sort of just snuck in I think — so I’ll let that go. The Kiwi Café offers a menu that’s just about the right size — lots of options, but not overwhelming at the same time. Feeling decadent I opted for Eggs Benedict with lobster, and wasn’t disappointed at all. Neither, from what I could tell, were the large group sitting behind me(who were from Texas, at least some of them), or anyone else. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever noticed so much chatter in a restaurant about how much people are enjoying themselves. Apart from the food, they have great coffee, and a large selection of baked goods and some other culinary goodies — spice mixes, snacks, all sorts of stuff — to the point that I lamented having no room in my saddlebags for anything else. Given how much I like the Lighthouse Route, I have a feeling I’m going to wind up something of a regular(as much as is possible for someone who doesn’t live in Chester, anyhow).

I spend a bit of time in Chester, but until last weekend I’d never had a chance to check out The Kiwi Café. And was I ever missing out! I had two delightful experiences. On Saturday I sampled a few baked goods, and their squares and brownies were to die for. But the Sunday brunch was what made me a true fan. My pear, arugula and brie sandwich was absolutely to die for. The orange raising bread it was on was fresh and delicious, and it had just the right amount of pear and brie to fill me up without falling apart and being impossible to eat. The menu offered a lot of tasty-sounding options, and there’s a lovely outdoor eating area that I can’t wait to enjoy. Inside, the atmosphere is bright, cheery and kid-friendly. This is a must if you’re in the area, whether you’re looking for a meal or simply a delicious cup of coffee and brownie.

This is one of my all time Chester favorites! I love that they have great home cooked organic, healthy options. Lynda is such a sweetheart, and everyone who works there is great. The deserts are to die for and all the other products they provide are so handy to have available. I love being able to come home to the kiwi, and have a great meal every time!

The Kiwi Café is located in downtown Chester. It is a small restaurant with great appeal. When you walk in you will be taken back with the bright colors of green and orange and blue. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is a great place to sit and have a coffee with one of the best brownies we have tasted. We like to hot chocolate as well. All the food is homemade with daily specials. There is an outside patio for the summer. Take a gander at the board where you will find different events they hold at the restaurant. I am quite sure that the owner has something on the menu that you will like and the staff is excellent.
