Really wanted to try fried chicken and this place was brought up during the course of our conversation. We almost did not find this place as the name was no where to be found on the outside. We could smell the fried chicken from the outside:) It really is a hole in the wall, when it comes to décor, but the food was good. We order all four of the fried chicken that they had. Regular, sweet and spicy, sweet soy, and extra spicy. The regular was my favorite. We also order their soups and gyoza. By the way… If you do feel adventuress? Try the pupa soup. Would I come back to this restaurant? Absolutely yes. If I was in the area and wanting KFC(Korean)

Despite the dodgey Unilocal reviews, I was recommended to try Ajuker by a friend. The place is definitely a dive, with vestiges of the restaurant’s prior tenant(a Japanese Korean place) still on the front signage and murals on the walls. Decoration-wise it’s pretty bare-bones but I didnt see any insects or rodents scurrying around so it’s already better than some other places I’ve eaten at; when we got there one employee was dutifully cleaning and disinfecting tables. Service is pretty minimal too: you order, they bring the food, you go to the counter to pay. They will pack up any leftovers for you. The chicken, however, is quite good given the atmosphere. This is pretty obviously a place where you go late at night, listen to Korean EDM and wash down crispy large chunks of chicken with a quantity of soju and beers. A «half and half» order of chicken yields the meats of what appears to be a whole chicken sans wings and breasts(although it seems there might be a few extra drumsticks in there… I think the wings and breasts probably go into the smaller orders and boneless items). The sauce very lightly coats the chicken so it stays crispy. The plain fried chicken has a strong white pepper flavour which was nice and not too salty. The seafood pancake had lots of chunks of seafood, which was great, but was a little doughy. Definitely not a date spot but good for drinking down some beers and chowing down… or course don’t drink and drive, especially because the parking lot is full of skytrain pillars. Come to think of it, that’s a terrific way to make sure drunk drivers can’t get out of the lot and endanger people!!!

aka Jujeonburi. RATING Food 2.5÷5.0 Ambience 0.5÷5.0 Service 2.0÷5.0 Price $, $$ You will see lots of Korean high school, university kids here especially at night. Food is not too bad but don’t expect something really good. I often got delivery food from here when I lived close by. No extra delivery fee when it’s over $ 30. Would I return? Well, if I still lived in Coquitlam, yes, but since I am 20 mins away from there I wouldn’t bother returning. Tips: Based on my experience(tried over 10 times), Yangnyum chicken(spicy fried chicken) and kimchi fried rice with samgyupsal can’t be toooo bad.

This place is a hole in the wall but the food is not bad. Their fried chicken is pretty good but they’re really big! I wish they were cut smaller. I recommend the soy and the sweet and spicy flavours. Also, the place doesn’t seem that clean and the owner is a bit creepy so if I do go next time, I’ll probably just get takeout instead of eating in.

Went here hoping for some good Korean spicy chicken and had a somewhat traumatic experience. Stuck it out and ate there even though everything was telling me to go — there were open buckets of raw chicken legs and thighs in both the eating area and in the hall on the way to the bathroom. Pretty disturbing but still wanted to give it a try. The tables and restaurant itself were generally dirty, staff was unfriendly and the food was average — not too bad but not worth dealing with everything else here and the thought of where the chicken was being stored was throwing it off. Felt a bit off the next day but I am sure it was more mental, this place is an accident waiting to happen though, I would definitely not go there when there are so many better options close by.
