Boston Pizza has sure changed a lot in the past ten years or so. And not for the better. I used to eat at this location about 2 – 3 times a month, but haven’t been in quite some time. I recently took my 9 yr old nephew here for his birthday dinner. They have a great kids menu, but some of the items are portioned for smaller kids(3 – 5) and the pizzas are definitely tiny, so he ordered an individual size pizza from the regular menu. I think the price is ridiculous($ 12-$ 14) for this very small size, but what can you do? He wanted a pizza and it was his birthday, so that’s what he got :) He chose an individual sized customized pizza with pepperoni, spinach, olives and tomatoes — which I think worked out to be over $ 15. Not a good value at all! I could get a medium size pizza at Panago for the same price. Yikes! We shared an appetizer calamari and I had the caesar salad with grilled salmon for my entrée. Not impressed at all with the salmon. It was still cold(obviously previously frozen) but still managed to be overcooked and dry. Plus, it tasted weird. Like it was freezer-burned or something. I ended up sending it back and just ate the salad. The calamari comes with some weird dipping sauce like chili-lime mayo or something like that. It was kind of gross. They really need to get some tzatziki in there, because even the waitress said everyone asks for that. Even marinara sauce would be better. My nephew enjoyed his pizza, even though they forgot the tomatoes(waitress brought a side of diced tomatoes instead) so that’s mostly what mattered to me. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I asked the birthday boy what he wanted and he chose the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. I planned on stealing a bite or two, but it was actually so good, I ended up eating almost half of it. Two stars for the apple crisp! Unfortunately, in general, the quality of food seems to have declined drastically since I was there last, but I’m not sure if that’s just this location or across the board. My last viist to a BP was in Chilliwack and it was actually really good, so maybe this location just needs to ramp things up a little. I probably wouldn’t go back unless I had kids with me — it is a very kid-friendly spot, after all.

Our second dish was BP’s Prime Rib Burger with creamy tomato soup on the side. It was a pretty basic burger — it had your regular tomatoes, onions, pickles, and lettuce. The prime rib patty didn’t really taste any different from a regular beef patty and it wasn’t very moist. There was also a sauce that had a barbecue taste but there wasn’t enough of it so the burger was a bit too dry. I liked that the buns were toasted though. The soup was good at first — it had very a very strong tomato flavour and the right balance of acidity. However, it became difficult to drink after several spoonfuls. It was pretty heavy and filling; I was expecting something a bit lighter. It definitely wasn’t a bad experience but we were’t too impressed with the quality of the food either — it could have been better. At least we were content that our stomachs were filled! The portion sizes were just right for us and the value isn’t bad(at least for their lunch combos).

This is not much different than any other BP. I have been here for lunch and another time to purchase a gift card. Their cashier was learning how to sell gift cards and I have to say the gentleman assisting(whom I believe was the manager) was not very friendly– to me or the new employee.

Gluten-free dining options available but they aren’t the best. Kudos for making it a viable — if expensive — option. Wish the food was better.

Pizza is good. Ordered mid. rare steak but served in 70% rare. May be we should ask for well done instead. Price is a bit high. $ 63 for a pizza and a dish of steak.

Never again. Went there w/the family last night. Both martinis had to be returned they were so bad. One was supposed to be w/a twist, instead got hot olives. The salmon w/rice that was ordered got fries instead. Took several minutes to get the rice. Doesn’t matter, the salmon was so dry it was horrible. The actual pizzas we got were pretty good, but didn’t make up for everything else. Waiter was nice, but screwed up the drinks and salmon order. Too many choices in the area to go back.

On our recent trip back to Canada, hubby and I thought it would be funny to go to West Restaurant(see earlier review) one night and then mix it up by white-trashing it for dinner at Boston Pizza the next day. Just joking. We were doing a «family night» with our dear friends and their twin baby boys. Apparently Boston Pizza is very, very family/kid/baby friendly because with these particular friends, we always end up there. We were promptly seated in an area of the restaurant that I can only describe as the dining at Chuck E Cheese because every couple there had at least one baby and at least two toddlers. No kidding. People in Coquitlam seem to be really big into procreating. I would have been horrified if it were just hubby and myself but since we were with actual children, I didn’t feel so completely out of place. But seriously… food everywhere! Apparently young children make for some pretty messy eaters. I felt kind of sorry for the clean up crew but I guess at a place like Boston Pizza, they get pretty used to it. Overall, we got pretty good service. Prices are decent for what it was. So as far as the food goes… it’s pretty mediocre. Bar food, really. Kind of greasy but nothing is super offensive or unusual. Exactly how I remembered it from years and years gone by.

I love it here! The restaurant is a sports pub, and you can see a television from anywhere you are seated. Seating is slightly separated into a bar side and a restaurant side. The food is fantastic, Ive been to other Boston Pizzas before, and this one beats them all. Food always comes fast and I’m never disappointed. My favorite thing on the menu use to be the the Classic Potato skins, but they took it off the menu. However they still make it for you if you just ask. My usual meal is a pasta that you can create yourself from the ingredients on the menu. But their pizza is fantastic aswell. They usually have good deals going on, such as Pasta Tuesdays where you can go in and get an appetizer and pasta for pretty cheap. And another plus to this restaurant is that they are open till 2:00am throughout the week and weekend! To sum it up. great place to go for some good pub food and drinks at anytime of the day.

Remember when Boston Pizza was good… Yeah, neither do I. Oh, and they raised their prices.

I had dinner at this Boston Pizza location near Coquitlam Centre, which has the atmosphere of a cozy neighborhood sports bar with HDTVs, framed rock & roll posters, and various NFL jerseys hanging from the high ceilings with exposed vents. The menu offers pub fare including pizza, pasta, salads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The portions aren’t large here, but just right. Several beers by bottle and on tap offered. I was seated on the bar side of the restaurant and the seating and tables were packed in good. It was like I was seated and having dinner«among friends» part of their slogan. I had the Boston’s Lasagna($ 14.49) served with garlic toast, which had firm curly lasagna noodles and Bolognese sauce topped with mozzarella cheese & baked, not like the traditional homestyle lasagna with ricotta cheese(also on the menu). The food was okay, nothing really impressive and definitely not what I could get in Boston’s North End. However, I do enjoy the menu offerings and atmosphere at their sister restaurant chain Boston’s in the USA. The service was acceptable on this visit. WEBSITE:
