Maybe it’s just my luck for the last two cactus I’ve been to. Food was great, drinks were a soso not as cross marking cactus. Service? She was very attentive. Lounge booth? Loved! I’m short so I didn’t feel so low sitting at the table. Nice and high. Downfall next to the patio and you can see other dining customers staring at our booth. Gets uncomfortable people please don’t stare.

Went here for lunch today with my fiancé. We shared the chicken lettuce wraps and a burger with fries and we each had a cesear to drink. The chicken lettuce wraps were awesome as always. His burger was delicious and our cesears were both great, but the fries were super super salty, which is out of character for any Cactus Club. However, our waitress, Angie, was extremely attentive and very nice and overall the food was good so we will definitely be going back.

Regardless of what you’re into, there’s probably something here for you! I visited on a week night and even still, the place was busy. Despite this however, service was quick. We ordered a banadara salad and a teriyaki rice bowl and they arrived soon after we finished our appy of szechuan beans. The food not only tastes good but looks great too! The salad and rice bowl looked very appealing, so many colours just made them pleasant dishes to look at. Overall, great dining experience.

Just had the best experience here. Our waitress, Claire, was AMAZING! When first talking to us she found out that we had just moved to BC from Calgary. She did her best to make us feel welcome. We were treated with the best food and dessert, and the absolute best service we could have asked for. Thank you to the Cactus Club and to Claire for welcoming us to BC!

This past Sunday was my first visit to the Coquitlam Cactus Club and I’m sure it won’t be my last. We stopped in for an early dinner before heading to the Casino for an 8pm show. Service was excellent — starting at the hostess stand, the girls were smiling, attentive and very quick to seat us. We opted to sit on the patio as the weather was exceptionally nice. Our server was really pleasant and very helpful when we were unsure of what to order. I always like it when a server is honest about her experiences with the food, as it really helps a customer to decide. Instead of saying, «everything is amazing» she explained what she liked and/or what she wasn’t a fan of. I appreciated her saying, «That’s just my preference, though, as some people really like it», when we asked about a particular drink on the menu. It’s hard to decide when you aren’t quite sure what to expect, so she made our decisions much easier. I had a glass of the sangria and it was really refreshing — they add a bit of their bellini slush in it, which added a great fruity kick to it. I had the cajun salmon caesar salad and it was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and piping hot. I could’ve handled a bit more spice, but the flavours were fabulous. The salad itself had just the right amount of dressing — not dry but not soggy. My friend had the fish tacos and said they were also really good. Excellent meal overall.

Excellent service. Great salads, which is our main meal. Plus good option for gluten-free veggie fajitas: portobello mushroom with lettuce instead tortillas !

I made reservations for fathers day. came in with a group of 6 and what’s this? They don’t have my reservation? Great. So after a few minutes of the very young waitresses at the front avoiding me and going«umm so what do you want to do?» Uh no, what are you going to do? After about 45 minutes of waiting they finally had a table for us and it was too small! They said that was the only one that could accommodate us though so we took it. First we all ordered drinks and only half of them came. we waited… Then the appetizers came. so we asked about our drinks and had 2 different waitresses come to the table and still no one knew where our drinks were. so we waited and then dinner came. OH there’s our drinks! How convenient. My dad and mother in law both ordered mashed potatoes. When the food came out my dad had them but the told my mother in law they ran out of potatoes 10 minutes ago. so how old is my dad’s food??? They came up with a solution and left but didn’t take her food with her so it became cold and we asked for it to be redone and they fixed that and took it off the bill so that’s fine. Then my mom ordered coffee. Ice cold! So gross! Then she had another one, same thing! Luckily we didn’t get charged for that either. We had a total of about 5 or 6 different people come to our table and not know what they were doing at our table and just couldn’t figure things out. The food was delicious but the service was not that great and the hostess and couple of the waitresses were so snotty to us over the loss of the reservation. For the price and the poor service, won’t be going back.

I have been here a few times, most of those times good, however, this one was visit was awful. For the record I used to Live in Coquitlam with my sister, therefore, we have been here a few times together and separately and I have always been generally impressed with their food. I talked this place up to my parents and I felt like I had egg on my face tonight. I came all the way down from Fan Expo to have a family dinner in my costume. Due to time and taking the train from Downtown to Coquitlam was a long one in spock ears that made me itchy, therefore, my attitude may not have been 100% but it was escalated due to some issues. Since when did they take nachos off the menu? They’ve had it for years. It is the one dish that I ALWAYS get, therefore, when I walked in without looking at the menu I asked for Nachos. The waitress said no problem and was off. What she didn’t tell me was that it was something that they no longer have on their menu. This is fine, however, don’t tell me that you can make something for me and guilt me every time that they had to specially make something off the menu for me. I do appreciate the effort, especially since they had everything on hand but just don’t make me feel like shit about it. Firstly my nachos which were just cheese and chips melted with avocado mashed(no real guacamole, just smashed avocados) came 15 minutes late. The rest of my family were already 2/3rds into their meal. I just sat there are read some of my comics at the dinner table being anti-social. They had no salsa so they gave me a bowl of pasta sauce and they tried to tell me that it was salsa. Why couldn’t they have been honest and tell me that they didn’t have salsa and then I would’ve either ordered a different dip or nothing at all. Don’t bring me pasta sauce. I know that Cactus Club is very $$$ which is why I am all for other eateries that are outside of the box rather than the obvious but still they just made up a price in thin air for the nachos that they felt they should charge me. I’ve been eating Nachos here for years, therefore, I know what the price should be WITHMEAT(I had no meat on mine) which was $ 12.50 — $ 13. I realize that there is some price inflation, however, I have been to other eateries under the same chain and know what the across the board price should be. I was shocked when for a small serve serving they randomly charged me $ 15 for cheese and chips. Now onto my mom’s steak. My mom ordered the steak well done. She eats, as most people do their steak from left to right in small pieces. She got in the dead center and it was extremely pink, however, by then it was too late to bring it back ’cause she had 2/3’rds of it. My mom is a slow eater just due to digestion so it took her a while to get to the center. The chard the outside? The bill came and thankfully my brother and sister stuck up for me and challenged the bill but by then I was so hungry and disappointed I just sucked it up. I am never coming back here again. So why the 2 stars… the key lime pie at the end was the only thing that redeemed my experience a very tiny bit.

This place has always been consistent in terms of service, food and atmosphere. Whether it’s a lunch with coworkers or a dinner date with the boyfriend, or a girls night, Cactus Club Coquitlam has never disappointed me. Weekends(in the evening) are obviously busier, and their music is very LOUD(especially in the lounge area) so if you’re looking for a more quiet dinner, you may want to reconsider. My favourites? Ahi Tuna Burger(with yam fries!), Rocket salad, calamari and the ceviche. And of course, chocolate lava cake for dessert.

You never go wrong at Cactus Club; they have a big room ambiance, casual setting, Lower Mainland’s hottest looking classy waitresses and Great food! The Coquitlam Location is no exception and there’s plenty of parking. Today’s appetizers were tasty and were stunning in presentation: Tuna Tataki, Beef Carpaccio and Edamame were great. Fish tacos and blackened Cajun Chicken with steamed vegetables hit the spot at our table. I’m a big fan and will return!!!

My mom and I went in for a nice Sunday dinner. We ordered the calamari and the yam fries as appetizers and the fish tacos and bacon cheeseburger as our mains. To our surprise, our entrées came out before our appetizers. Then about 5 minutes later, our appetizers came as well. We pointed out to our server that we wanted our appys first. She was apologetic and asked if we wanted to keep the entrées along with the appys. We said no and wanted our appys first. She took our entrées away. I work in the restaurant business and know that the entrées should have been remade since it was not our mistake and we had taken about 20 minutes to eat our appys. However when our entrées came back, you could tell they came from the warmer. And to make it worse, the sauces and ketchup were warm as well. The guacamole was crusted over and brown and the flour tortilla shells where hard and dry like chips. They were definitely inedible. My mom only ate the filling and it was quite noticeable that the hard tortillas were left. I feel like that was completely unacceptable and the entrées should have been remade since we asked for our appys first. And also, our server did not ask us once how our meal was nor did she come check on us. She walked past and looked at every other table around us numerous times except ours until we stopped her to ask for the bill. And then she looked at the tortillas left on the plate but did not ask what was wrong and walked away. Then after paying with a gift card, we still had a remaining balance of $ 40. However our server kept the card and did not return it to us. We had to find her just to get it back. She did not apologize and barely made eye contact. She just handed it over and walked away. It was once thing after another. This was definitely not a good experience and I would not go back, even with the gift card.

This is our favourite cactus club. My bf and I always commute longer just to go to this cactus. The food always tastes good and if there is something wrong they will gladly fix it for u. Better service then any other restaurant that we have gone to. The only thing I would complain about is they don’t have ceviche all year round only in the summer :(. Ask for Nikki or Brittany they are the best!

Currently here and have a headache and a sore throat. I get that it’s Friday and u want to be trendy, but if I wanted to listen to loud dance music and NOT talk to the people I’m with, I’d be downtown at a club. In fact I’ve been to night clubs where the music hasn’t been this loud. Moral of the story: music is WAY. TOO. FUCKING. LOUD.

Came here the other night with some girl friends, we had a bit to drink prior to our arrival and we were probably a little annoying, that didn’t phase our server at all. Kevin provided wonderful service, he was professional and personable and quick witted and highly efficient. Also, the pumpkin cheesecake was probably a little too good!

Came here last night with a friend for late night eats and I have to say… in all our years coming here I had the best service ever! Thalia, our server was so bright and personable and as my friend put it «without the usual cheap vibe» that you get from a lot of these female-servers-only places. She was very professional, always had a sincere smile, and talked to us like she genuinely cared. I guess what made it seem sincere is that she didn’t give off the«I don’t want to be at work right now» vibe. Impressive since it’s Thanksgiving Sunday. Anyhow, the Pumpkin Cheesecake I came for did not disappoint and I was VERY satisfied and Thalia was amazing! Thank you

I’m never sure if I’m in Earl’s or Cactus Club. It’s so hard to tell. We don’t get out to Coquitlam very often, but there was a movie playing at Silver City that wasn’t on anywhere else. Looking around the area(and not being lucky enough to be in a car) the best option was Cactus Club. The fact is, this place isn’t designed for me and mine. I’m sure if you’re a gold-necklace-wearing, gym-frequenting, martini-sipping metro chick/dude, then this place is great: sexy dark lighting and extremely(extremely) chatty wait staff with impossibly blonde hair and black body paint(or are those dresses, I can’t tell?). But for a slightly older, more conservative couple, it’s just a bit too much. The pretence of «cool» is yawn-inducing, and all that can keep us coming back is the food. But this time the food didn’t impress. I had a braised short-rib sandwich, and while the meat and cheese were great, the bread was chosen terribly. Barely toasted plain, soft, white bread; it had no character at all. She had seafood spaghettini, which had stuck together noodles and a not-so-fresh-tasting sauce. Was it awful? No. But it wasn’t great. If this is your kind of place, then power to you. You can eat mediocre food, drink over-priced drinks, and schmooze in the dim light while trying to avoid watching sports on the multiple screens. I guess it’s just not for my kind of people. Now I’m the one being pretentious.

CCCCb= Cactus Club Café Coquitlam Branch. This is my original hangout back in the day when I owned my business in Coquitlam. Why are the girls here lovely? Why is this place so much better than the CCCYT branch? Why, why why? We rolled in super hungry with not many other options in this neck of the woods. Hamburger in my thoughts, the Jack Daniels BBQ burger was on the menu along with a pint of Udder ale. Steamy hot, gooey goodness with crisp, hot sea salt fries. I used to come here a lot. I loved lazy Friday lunches cavorting here. It was nice to come and say hi. CCCCb you are A-OK! g

This is my favourite of all the cactus club locations. It looks super hip and is visually stunning. Feels like a James Bond movie inside. It’s quite dark inside. Creates a hip atmosphere for a date. If you have bad vision… you may be in trouble reading the menu in this lighting. The staff is very friendly and professional. The many beauties that work here also have a brain. They know their stuff. Rob Feenie redesigned the menu with several of his signature dishes. At a previous visit to the South Surrey location I had the BBQ duck sandwich. One of the best sandwiches of my life! I ordered the grilled albacore tuna club which features oceanwise albacore tuna with a tarragon tartar sauce. I upgraded from fries to yam fries for the extra couple bucks. This is sandwich is served on a ciabatta bun. The portion of fish was a good size. The server made sure to mention that it is cooked rare. This is fine for me as I trust the quality at cactus club. Most other places, I would change my order. The fries were piping hot and very crispy with a lightly seasoned coating. This dish was great. I would change nothing about it. My companion had the«Raincoast Greens» salad. It contained grilled chicken, avocado, egg, fresh berries, feta, pecans, with a lemon-thyme vinaigrette. This salad was enormous. definately a full meal sized portion. I love this place and will be back for sure. My only word of caution is that it can get pricey very fast.
