Suds ‘n’ Scissors

This place left a very positive impression on me and my dog. I particularly like how they chose to omit shaving my dog’s balls. It was a smart choice, as my dog isn’t doing the usual post-​haircut ball licking. Thanks guys.

The new owners of Suds n Scissors are so accommodating and professional, my dog LOVES them! They gave her the royal grooming treatment, and provide specialized, unique services like carding, and hand-​stripping, at a VERY reasonable price. I think they’re the best deal in town for carding & hand-​stripping. They also gave me a generous bag of goodies for my dog.

The groomer is very kind and gentle to my dog. Her prices are reasonable and I trust her with my pet. I have been trusting her for years and I will continue to return to her for years to come. Thank you for the consistent, courteous and professional services.

I have taken our mini doodle there for a year now. He always gets a good trim and better yet, he likes Michelle. This is a dog who doesn’t like to be left anywhere. I find the prices are competitive with other places I have used in the past and there is lots of parking. So why 4 stars instead of 5, sometimes he’s not ready when we were told he would be which is not a huge deal but it usually means driving through rush hour traffic and on winter nights :-(
I am always however happy to recommend Suds ‘n’ Scissors.

I’ve been taking my dog Bentley here for years. I recommend this place to everyone I know. Bentley always comes out looking great.

Ok results, business could use some improvement. Customer Service is lacking.
Frankly, I don’t think Sheila was in the wrong place. I have just had a similar experience. Michelle, though a nice person I’m sure, has a lot to learn about business and how she conducts herself with her customers. Our dog gets a little scared when she’s away from home, and so Michelle told us on our last groom that she’d like to do an «in and out» appointment for her. She explained nothing about any special considerations or advising her of this fact when making an appointment.
Over a week ago, we made an appointment for our dog to be groomed. Today, 15 minutes before the the appointment, Michelle phoned to say she cannot perform an «in and out» groom on our dog today, and I should have advised her of that fact when I made the appointment. She rudely spoke over me on several occasions, to the point that I had to ask her to stop and allow me to speak. I was absolutely shocked. She had just cancelled my appointment, great!
It is not the customer’s responsibility to know the procedures of a business in absence of an explanation regarding their preferred procedures. When I advised Michelle of this, she stated that «I must be the only one in her 19 years doing dog grooming that she hasn’t explained the procedure to.» Excuse me? She actually went on to explain that she may have taken our appointment while at home, or somewhere else because her calls are forwarded, and she can’t be held to the standard of having doggies cards with her at all times.
I took the day off work today specifically to have my dog groomed. The customer is never responsible when a business fails to instruct on the proper procedure and preferences when you agree to work together. Businesses who make excuses and blame the customer, or simply recite reasons like my calls are forwarded to excuse bad services and extraordinary inconvenience are just not worthy of our business.
If this business has been running like this for 19 years and hasn’t obtained simple organization skills to book appointments, then I assume the outlook for customer service improvement is bleak. Needless to say, I will not be returning here.

Reading the review dated 7÷17÷2012 just now makes me think the person who posted it has the wrong place as they don’t have a day care area at Suds ‘n’ Scissors.
Well I thought I could give my pooch a bit of a trim myself … oops … so I called Suds ‘n’ Scissors for help. When we arrived Michelle took the time to discuss Ernie’s type of coat, she offered options on what I could have done (thankfully she said my attempt wasn’t as bad as I had thought it was) and answered all my questions. I left him there feeling all would turn out well and it did. Michelle also has a calm way about her and Ernie picked up on it, he was not in the least stressed when I picked him up. I will definitely take him back !

I used to bring my dog Freedom here when I lived with my sister, however, every experience I’ve had for 5 years has been terrible. Whenever I called, a rude lady answered. When I came in, a different lady was annoyed that I booked a self service for my dog and I and refused to upgrade services. Bathing my dog wasn’t about cost efficiency as it was about just bonding and giggle with my dog. They also made my dog feel like an annoyance when he’d come in for a bath. The daycare portion is awesome and I loved taking Freedom there to meet all his dog friends. Thumbs up for that service, however, for the bathing protocol, they need to improve some things. The really nice lady was never there when I went in to bath Freedom on the weekends which sucked. Freedom loves her.
