Banana Republic Factory Outlet

Their clothes are very me. I’ve got pants, shirts, underwear, socks, ties, and coats from these guys. It’s the right balance of style, comfort, and price for me.
And the price is especially right at this factory outlet. There’s not a huge choice. But if you’re looking for the staples — jeans, t-​shirts, sweaters — this is a great place to stop. Because it’s an outlet they don’t always have a big range of choice, though.
I find the staff here really good, always friendly and helpful. On my last visit they pointed out that I’d selected two shirts of slightly different cut, allowing me to get the right one and saving me an exchange.

I love clothing shopping. I hate to be a stereotype, but I’m a woman who loves to go shopping. I also happen to be a woman who loves a good bargain. What I don’t like to do is sacrifice quality for affordability and this outlet doesn’t make you do that. Usually, I stay away from outlet’s. Mainly because I feel like the quality isn’t there, or you don’t find the consistency in style of clothing.
I really like this outlet though, I always find a fantastic, stylist deal in here (usually a sale on top of a sale) and it’s always well kept. I hate when I go into a store and it looks like a mini tornado that’s just focus’s on destroying clothing displays hit it. Scary, natural forces that hate retail clothing stores. This is no reflection on the staff, but more on the patrons of the store. Have some respect people! If you can’t find your jean without destroying half of the store, it might be time to ask for help. This store is large, and well laid out. The store also offers a petite section, which is great for all your shorties out there! The struggle is real, I know.

I am a huge fan of Banana Republic. I am not a huge fan of their prices. So I was very excited to get into the outlet store in Dartmouth Crossing.
The pros:
1. Great looking clothes at deep discounts
2. Great selection in a wide variety of sizes
3. Store is attractively laid out
4. Mannequins show outfits that I never would have thought to put together
5. The email coupons– sign up for them
The cons:
1. Staff seem to go out of their way to avoid helping for the most part
2. The outlet line is not quite up to the same standard as the regular retail line
Overall I was very pleased with my shopping experience. Don’t go in expecting to be greeted immediately at the door and assisted throughout your entire shopping experience as you are at the BR flagship stores because it’s not going to happen– it is an outlet after all. The quality of the outlet line is slightly lower than the flagship line, but still on par with Gap or better. I was able to put together several outfits in under 30 minutes and left feeling as though my time there had been well spent.

I like this store… it has a great mix of casual and dressy enough for work meetings or similar type occasions. There are always decent deals to be had and typically there is an extra 10% discount coming to my email once a month.
I’ll save my grievance about a lack of pant fits/​styles to fit my build where most of the more stylish items are skinny fits or straight leg fits, seriously, I’d have to go up by 4 – 6 sizes just to get those styles past my knees. Deep breath, I’m done. Now moving on to why a store where I like the clothes often and the prices are good only nets a 3.
If you’d read some of my reviews before you probably have guessed the reason: customer service. They are typically friendly at the cash and all, but the people on the floor barely make eye contact, don’t ask if you need any help even when you look completely lost.

Oh, the Banana Republic Outlet. It’s where I belong.
Honestly, I’d never even really been a fan of Banana Republic — the clothes were too expensive and too fancy for my more casual wardrobe. Yet I always seem to find an infinite amount of great deals and items I love at the outlet.
Despite my five star rating, there are some downsides. Prices are not always clear, so I often find myself wishing they had one of those Walmart scanners to check prices. Occasionally you’ll go and feel like things aren’t that much cheaper than in the retail store. You need to know when to strike. The key is in their email coupons.
Give them your email address. Actually read the emails. This weekend, there was an offer for 30% off your total purchase when you presented the coupon. There were already MASSIVE sales going on — like, 60% off blazers, 40% off skirts and sweaters, etc. I bought a bunch of new clothes for my new job, spent $ 215 in total on 5 items, and my savings were $ 275.
My fiancé always does really well in the mens’ section, too, mostly for basic tees, button-​downs and sweaters. I like the layout of the store, and it’s basically the only reason I ever set foot in Dartmouth Crossing.

I work across the street/​parking lot from this store so I am in here often. Over the course of my job my wardrobe has basically become a Banana Republic closet. I am glad that it’s an outlet, because not only are the prices really good, but I actually prefer their selection to that of the main store in the Shopping Center, which I feel is geared towards women about 15 – 20 years older than me.
Being so close I’ve learned to wait for good sales and have scored some major deals. My only issue with the store is that I find the turnover of clothes can be a little slow, but I find the get enough new pieces in regularly to keep me coming back.

I shouldn’t be talking about going within even a few feet of the BR outlet because I’m supposed to be on a self-​induced spending freeze, but how can I stay away? The selection changes rapidly, the prices are normally pretty good, and the size selection suits me just fine.
My latest find was a great pair of dark denim for less than 50 $ tax included. (Yessssss!)
The layout is good, and for the most part, the store is well kept and organized. The main sale racks («double sale!» as I like to think of it) could be more organized, but hey, isn’t the hunt part of the fun?
Thank god I live on the peninsula.

Due to a blatant lack of foresight, I ended up at this Banana Republic outlet in the throes of boxing day sales in hopes of finding fresh wedding attire for a New Year’s Eve union. The mission was to get in and get out with a head-​to-​toe outfit in thirty minutes or less, ideally without spending more than $ 200, a pretty substantial budget considering the massive discounts I had previously seen scattered through this shop.
The men’s section is pretty large and broken out into three sections. Casual wear is up at the front, formal wear including suits is in the middle, and clearance items are at the back near the busy dressing room entry. Prices can vary, particularly in the midst of big sales. For example, their ties are typically $ 40+ (which I think is a bit ridiculous) but were discounted to $ 19.99 yesterday. Dress pants can range anywhere from $ 30 – 90, sports coats can sometimes be found for less than $ 100, but dress shirts are weirdly pricy by comparison. Basically, be sure to check price tags before falling in love with anything.
My main gripe with the selection is that there isn’t always an outfit to be found within the selection. I found some fantastic tweed vests (I love pretty much anything tweed or vesty) that couldn’t be worn with a single pair of dress pants in stock, ruining my plans of finding a complete outfit in a single visit. I’m sure you could piece something together over several visits or by adding in stuff from home, but it’s not reliable for a one-​stop-​shop on the men’s side. In the end, I left with a pair of dress pants, two ties, and a vest for $ 140.
Throughout my visits, I’ve never seen staffed assigned to the men’s section which has proven to be a bit of a downer. Your options are to find someone in the women’s section and lure them over, or just hit the fitting rooms and let one of the attendants in there do the rest of the work for you. I’ve found staff to be hit-​or-​miss as a result. Cashiers are quite friendly and the occasional worker can be really helpful, but I’ve also had my fair share of having to wait out personal conversations between staff before they’d even look in my direction. Last night, the cashier shouted, «Bet you can’t wait to get out of here, hey?» at a coworker while ringing me through which I didn’t feel all that great about.
Not bad in times of need, but definitely not the same quality of Banana Republic that you’d find at a flagship store.
