Dino’s is now Snappy Tomato! Noooooo! Dont get tricked! The new owners are riding the coat tails of people like my fiancée and I who have been eating there for over a decade. Called in our order for pick up(phone was not answered with new business name) went in and thought it was a little odd to see all new staff as we were on first name basis with everyone and the owner, however its been a couple months since our last order so maybe new hires? Signage all over the place still read Dino’s, as did the paper receipt, however after paying(pretty tricky move), a man gruffly shoved a menu at us and said«New Menu, new name» and advised after we were surprised that the owner has sold and moved to Ottawa. The quality is NOTHING like it was before, the pizzas were small with poor quality toppings and on pre-formed pizza bases, similar to cheapo Compliments grocery store variety. Wasn’t quite cooked through and very soogy with literally no crust, just burnt edges. We tried to give it a fair chance before judging but wow, night and day difference on quality. The wonderful, fresh handmade dough with the awesome fluffy crust and ultra fresh toppings will be sadly missed. Same for the famous donairs. Shame. They should have kept the recipes and integrity because I can imagine the new owners will be losing a ton of customers due to the obvious downgrade. If we had been told upfront that Dino’s was no longer, we wouldn’t have ordered, but obviously they’re not disclosing that upfront for that exact reason. :-(

Very disappointed in what appears to be their new recipe. For a long time they were my favorite place in dartmouth because so few places make a thin soft crust with the nice big puffy part at the end. Now they are doing the exact same lazy bready crust like most places in town, like alexandra’s. There must be something about it that is cheaper to make because no one I know likes it like that but everywhere seems to be doing it now. If I wanted pizza like that(which i don’t) I would just order from alexandra’s because they have a great online ordering system. This dinos doesn’t even have a website that I could find.

We decided that we would try a new pizza place tonight and the reviews for Dino’s were encouraging especially the part about the great deals. We ordered a small garlic fingers, bottle of pop and a medium pizza with extra cheese. The food arrived quickly however the bill came to 36 dollars which I don’t think is a great deal at all. When we opened the pizza it was covered in so much cheese and grease it was inedible. When we called the owners and asked that the delivery driver come and take back the pizza and refund us the 36 dollars Dino got angry and stated that he only made excellent pizzas and that it was our fault for ordering wrong. Needless to say that we turfed the pizza and got something else to eat. After Dino’s outburst and the terrible pizza we will never order from Dinos again. With so many other great local pizza shops I’d advise you to save yourself the trouble and the money and order from somewhere else.

When it comes to Donair, you always hear of «King of Donair» and«Sicilian.» Don’t be fooled, those places are for the masses that don’t know what the good stuff is. Dino’s has by far, the best donair around.

Dino’s 2 For 1 is one of the best deals in town. If you are on the Dartmouth side, stop by and grab a couple. There are not too many pizza shacks that offer this and the pizza is good. Traditional crust, lots of cheese and a great sauce. We sue to order from here a lot when we lived in Dartmouth. We never had a bad pizza, sometimes we picked up and other times delivery. I liked to stop back here on occasion, oh yes, you might not think it looks good from the outside, but it is worth the trip.
