At first, I thought the new owners had really cleaned up the place, the food and their reputation. We were ordering chicken wings, pizza, and a lot of spaghetti. It was great for a couple months but then one day we got spaghetti that had some really gross raunchy sauce. It was so bad, even the cat wouldn’t go near it. When I called to let them know, they said it must be the noodles, not the sauce, because the sauce is made every Sunday, and it’s great. Offered to send me out another one with the same sauce, but they wouldn’t even entertain the thought of their sauce being the problem. BTW is it normal to make the sauce once a week? I really don’t know. Anyway, we decided to get more wings instead, which were good but since then we decided to stay away from Downtown Pizza for a while.

I am a huge pizza fan and pizza places in this town are everywhere so it is hard to find a pizza place that sticks out to you and that the food brings you back. I had heard a lot of bad comments about this place but since the new owners took over and the place is being redone– I can’t see anything wrong with it. Its a cute little spot, a ‘hole in the wall’, but the pizza is really tasty. I don’t know what it is about this province but everyone and everywhere seems to have donairs. I will have to come back to try their donair pizza which is my current favourite food group at the moment.

I’ll I’ve ever had there were the slices. Best slice I’ve ever had, by far. Most places make their pizzas that they sell as slices with less toppings I find. Not here. They are loaded. Great toppings, great taste and only $ 5 for a slice and a pop! Awesome.

Being from Michigan we were interested in having a donair and based on a single recommendation from our clamming guide in the Clare area we went out of our way to this little gem. I’m sure native Nova Scotians will wonder why a donair was so important to us but we’ve always felt the best food is local fair. The donair here was simply amazing! The spice on the meat was perfect and you put their donair sauce on it it was truly heavenly! If we lived in the Halifax area we would eat here on a regular basis. Thank you clamming guide(Andrew weaver) and thank you downtown pizza for our best meal in Nova Scotia so far!

Since I moved to Dartmouth 3 years ago, I have ordered from here often. It has always been a great place for basic pizza shop fare — pizza, garlic fingers, poutine, donairs. Naturally, there are items on the menu that I really enjoy and items that I ordered once and haven’t cared to order again(but that is mostly because poutine rules all). I have never had issues with their food arriving cold. I can see that one reviewer is complaining that the lasagna arrived after 30 minutes on the road, with an internal temperature of 143 degrees. Last time I checked, that is pretty warm and perfectly safe. The reviewer should also have mentioned how delicious the lasagna is. it is one of my(non poutine) staple items from their menu. Another reviewer commented that the new owners have reduced the size of their pizzas. I really can’t comment on the size issue, because poutine rules all… but what I have noticed is that they actually make a proper pizza now. For several years I avoided their pizza because they old owners pre-baked all their crusts. I felt like I was eating re-heated, leathery pizza, everytime. The new pizza looks legit! The hamburgers are amazing. Huge, lean burger on a really nice kaiser roll. Add a side of poutine. POW! Also, the new owners are dolls. They have cleaned the place up A LOT. The shop looks nicer, the food quality is higher, the prices haven’t gone up. I have started ordering more often in the last few months. I am impressed with something new each time.

New owners have reduced the pizza sizes to where a medium is the size of a small but remains the same price. Been ordering from here for the eight years I’ve been in the city because it was the best place to get pizza from in Dartmouth. Was.

I have ordered many pizzas and assorted extras from this place and I will continue to do so. The pizza is not fantastic by any means but it isn’t bad either — a solid, average pizza that will fit the bill. The delivery staff has always been friendly and I have had no problems with mixed up or incorrect orders. You can’t go wrong with ordering pizza from here, just don’t expect an extravagant one.

Order a pizza from this place and ask for the sweet sauce. OMG it is the best thing ever.

I’d never really heard of this place before but I thought that I would give it a try for delivery when I found it on Unilocal. I love their Web site? Why? Sure, it’s fairly basic but it does have one key feature: a map of their delivery area. How swell is that?! Seriously, why don’t more delivery places have such basic information on their sites? Other than that, the layout is pretty simple but easy to understand, even if it’s not the prettiest. Menu? The food is typical pizza place stuff but a fairly good selection. Beyond pizza, lots of sides/appetizers and sandwiches/burgers. The staff, from my limited experience are nice. The delivery guy was a bit chatty but there are worse traits for someone who is the point of contact to have. And finally, the food. I got the Greek pizza, mozza sticks and garlic fingers. All were good but the pizza truly stood out. The feta(which I love) was doled out very generously across the pizza. The crust was thick and full. I will definitely be ordering from here again.
