I like food trucks. I like out of nowhere cantinas. I like a good homemade meal. While I was walking around Darmouth, I stumbled upon this little food truck. I realy wanted some good fish and chips and, in my opinion, you can’t get any better than in the Halifax metro region. So I decided to try it and boy was I happy to do so. It is by far the best fish and chips I ever had. I live in Montréal but I may have to do a trip to Halifax again so I can eat there. Realy you shouldn’t miss that!

We’ve been in Nova Scotia for a week and have had meals that were all over the map. Fran has a great truck with handmade fish and chips that are well priced and delicious. If I lived in the area I’d been getting fat off Fran.

Delicious food and amazing, friendly service. We ordered the clams, Poutine and scallop burgers. All were delicious but those scallop burgers… YUM! Will definitely be back.

Fran’s has undoubtedly THEBEST seafood in Metro. Better than that they are lovely people to boot! I am a disabled person and not rich and one day Fran just GAVE me an order of FishnChips! Seriously –you won’t find something like that often. Anyway the food is to die for-the secret is in the batter(my opinion). G PS John’s Lunch eat your heart out –you are over-rated –Fran’s is where it’s at!!!

I have seen this white truck in downtown Dartmouth since I moved here a few months ago. I couldn’t wait to try it! Wow! What a disappointment! I was starving, but it was 2:30 pm, and I didn’t want to ruin dinner, so I ordered a medium fry. The fries were not cooked fresh, they were in the basket already hanging over the grease. I literally received 12 fries laying in a small cardboard container. I was shocked, and disappointed. The fries themselves got a 5⁄10 for taste, but they were barely warm, and half crispy. The woman working there seemed very nervous, and couldn’t handle the two orders she had.

Homemade french fries. Well, technically, I guess they’re truck-made french fries. But they are fantastic! After seeing this little fish’n’chip truck in downtown Dartmouth for months, I decided to finally give them a go. Last year they disappeared when the weather turned cold so I thought it best to get my order of fries when I could. Since I’m a vegetarian, the menu options were limited so I went with the slightly-healthier-sounding french fries over onion rings. In Googling this place(to see if they had a Web site) I discovered the fries are hand-made in the truck each day. And you can tell. They’re nice, thick-cut fries. I may have to head back soon to try the onion rings. For all you omnivores, they have fish(fresh from Eastern Passage, I’m told), seafood and burgers too. It was a good experience: just walk up, order, wait a minute, pay, and voila! food. Staff were friendly and happy to have my business.
