Very rude Mac consultants they made me
Feel very unwelcome and stupid for asking questions, they didn’t even assist me I had to basically beg for service. to bad I didn’t end up buying anything I went to Sephora instead.

I got an appointment for a fun «beauty consultation» at MAC last Christmas: in other words, as a fresh-​faced fifteen year-​old makeup virgin, my mom arranged for me to go to MAC to be educated. I’m not reviewing products here, but experience — obviously, MAC cosmetics are very high-​quality and the foundation and concealer I got have lasted me forever and feel amazing.
The journey to my purchase was not what I’d hoped it would be, though. Like I said, I was new to makeup and had no idea what I was doing. As it was, if I had had a great experience here I’m sure I would have become loyal to this brand forever, but… The woman who worked with me smiled and said she understood, but I was at no point made to feel comfortable. She set me in front of the mirror and I got the impression that she was rushing through things, even though there was no one at the counter needing her assistance. She picked the wrong foundation colour for me and didn’t seem to notice until I — me! — pointed it out. She didn’t show me anything I could do specially for my eye colour, or face shape, or anything — just generically applied makeup on me. I’m still a bit upset. I did love the foundation she picked (probably by accident… she didn’t ask my skin type, or what I would prefer) and the concealer, but I walked out of there disappointed and determined to find a different brand to love — not to mention still in the dark about the world of cosmetics. However, I did have the «makeup chart» that was drawn up for me, with all the products she used on my helpfully written down. A great idea, and very practical!
From my own personal experience, customer service-​wise, this location sucked. But who knows — if you love makeup and are experienced with it, maybe you’ll get treated better. Products are still excellent quality, so at least there’s that.

First let me say that I didn’t even know about this counter in the Bay. I almost think its better when i didn’t know, now I go there every chance I get, and never come out empty handed.
For a small counter, they carry pretty much everything the big MAC in Halifax does. The staff are always super friendly, and very attentive. If I have to wait for a few minutes while they are helping someone else, they always make sure I know, that they know I am waiting. I have never had a less then perfect experience at this MAC.
I like that all of the people who work there are very knowledgeable and really sweet.

This is MAC is actually a counter located in the Bay. It can be missed for those who aren’t in the know and aware of it’s existence, however for those who know it does exist and visit often, the staff remember you and great you with warm friendly smiles.
I often visit this location as my hubby works in the mall and I always ensure I arrive early to pick him up from work so I have enough time to swing by and see what’s new.
The only con with this location is that they don’t have the space to carry both the pots of make up and the pro pallet line. I have enough MAC that I use the pro pallet line and carry about 5 of the 15 pro pallets. Due to this I usually only pick up the limited edition lines here.
Other than it missing the pro pallets, it’s a wonderfully fantastic MAC.
