O’Regan’s Toyota

Everytime I brought my car in here they always tried to upsell me something. It was not always something needed either. They also have tried to upsell me things that I don’t need. It is as if it is a policy to upsell something on every single car that comes in. Once they performed an unrequested battery test, the battery allegedly failed and then then tried to sell me a battery when mine was perfectly good. Then they tried to charge me for the unrequested battery test. The worst are alignments. They have an alignment checker and they check your cars alignment everytime you go in to try and upsell alignments. I have gone in after recently having an alignment done and they have told me that it failed the check and they then tried to sell me another alignment. The last time I was in I had them do a general check and they told me that I needed $ 6000.00 worth of work. I then went somewhere else and they said that there was nothing wrong with my car.

This was my best auto service experience ever. We’re visiting NS from the U.S. and needless to say we panicked when our Prius died. Fortunately the staff at OReagans Dartmouth went out of their way to get us in and out quickly and efficiently. After less than two hours, we’re back on the road to Cape Breton with a new auxiliary battery.

My cars have been coming here for the last 5 years but this was my first firsthand service experience here. B has taken the vehicles in previously but wasn’t available this time.
Pretty sweet setup. Once registered with them you get reminders for when maintenance is due. Mine come in the form of emails, less bothersome then phone calls.
You drive into the reception area and your car is whisked away while you go inside to register with the friendly counter staff.
The waiting area is great, nice comfy chairs, TV, magazines, newspapers, coffee station, WiFi, workstations and a «Filling Station» (café) next door.
This was a major maintenance service and coveniently I was emailed a slew of Toyota coupons, some of which were applicable to the services I was getting, I «saved» $ 75 with the coupons. I have a bit of a love hate relationship with coupons. I wish businesses would just charge a reasonable fee instead of inflating prices so they can issue coupons so we feel like we’re getting a deal. That said, the guy told me they send out hundreds of these coupon books but rarely see any come in. Hey, use them people, you’re paying for them anyway.
Of course all this luxury comes at a price but I’ve found I get pretty good value for the cost, especially if there’s a coupon or two I can use.

I have been getting my Corolla serviced here for years. They do a good job and the car is always ready when they say it will be. If anything, their service is a bit too friendly, with almost too many phone calls, reminder mail cards, etc. They do a great job of keeping records of the service and suggesting options — but again I sometimes feel they are upselling me — in a very friendly manner.
This is a great place to get your car serviced if you have an aversion to seeing grease/​oil/​anything mechanical;-)
