I absolutely love this bakery. The staff are so informative, kind, and patient. They are honest about their products. I live on the other side of the city but still make at least a monthly trip just to pick up goodies from here. I especially love their hummus. They deserve a lot more recognition!

I’m a fan because their spelt and raspberry pastry was awesome and I also love the area. It’s a wonderful place to walk around with the park just across the street. I docked off a point on my rating because the service wasn’t great. I have some allergies and need to ask questions and the person behind the counter was sending out some pretty hostile vibes. My boyfriend and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. If it weren’t for the delicious options, I’d be too put off to go back.

I don’t understand why more people don’t talk about Buns and Roses! I agree with the reviewer who said the owner is friendly and proud of the products. I loved that I could ask lots of questions. I’ve discovered my perfect summer family outing — Park Allen Spray Park and a baked goods picnic from Buns and Roses. I’ll give myself extra points for cycling!

Closed for a while due to a water leak, Buns and Roses is open again! They have a large selection of gluten-free breads and pastries and lots of gluten-full, too. I bought a black Russian loaf the other day and it was by far the best I’ve ever had — full of whole fennel(caraway?) seeds and so tasty. The owner and employees are always friendly and the quality and freshness are great. A friend said they’ll bake request batches of items they don’t usually have, as well.

I think I’m in love… I stumbled upon Buns and Roses while shopping at a local yarn shop on the same block. The building doesn’t look like much and the shades were drawn, which is probably why I have looked right past it so many times. However, today I caught the lights of an «Open» sign followed by an «Organic Bakery» sign and I had to stop in. The shop itself is pretty basic, which is the only thing preventing me from giving that extra star! There are a couple of tables where you can enjoy their treats but the décor itself is pretty nonexistent. There was two large cases of fresh baked goods. One case was devoted entirely to Gluten Free products. The second case had danishes made with spelt, cookies with oats and raisins, spelt croissants and more traditional bakery goods. I decided to try a raspberry spelt danish. It was fresh and gooey and sweet yet with the perfect sour hint of the spelt. I really enjoyed it! The owner was super friendly and very proud of his product. There was a bread rack behind the till which was mostly empty but appeared to have featuring many kamut and spelt varieties earlier in the day. The owner also gave me a sample of the spelt granola they make in house. It was delicious and I will definitely be back for more!
