I have been bringing my high-​end items here for afew years but think I will look for another consignor in the future. Caprice already takes 60% of the selling price as their profit but this week told me they are now also taking a processing fee of $ 1.75 per item. Should not the 60% profit cover processing? I feel they are ripping their consignors off and I really don’t appreciate that. I would rather support another consignor that appreciates my loyalty. And my lovely clothes.

I got here late in the afternoon, and was thrilled to find not only a great selection of up-​to-​date items, but extremely helpful and kind sales people. They helped me find a number of things, and provided honest and useful fashion advice. The prices are a bit higher than I like to pay for many things, but their reduced/​clearance sections were quite reasonable.

I’ve always enjoyed the challenge of presenting gently worn last year’s fashions for consignment. I’m old.. .and have been «locking horns» with the women who examine what we present for resale since Zoryana was thriving on Whyte.
To keep my experience short, I’ll sum up my consignment history with the feeling that our acceptance/​rejection has little to do with the clothes and everything to do with the store’s rep’s impression of us. Most gals can relate to the «look» waiting behind the counter when we’ve entered a downtown dress shop where the staff are most obviously not interested in «helping» us. In my case, I’m not only long in the tooth but long in torso and ordinarily take size 12. There were days/​years I was closer to size 16 and non admittance was quickly telegraphed at the majority of shops.
So, in the theme of that message, I braced myself for a first time appointment at Caprice West. A lovely young pony tailed assistant promptly accepted my offerings, took them away to examine, and made some friendly suggestions of how I could improve two items for eligibility. My tendency is to donate at this stage, but she was just so complimentary — and if you’ve delved in the depths of consignment, that sensation is rare! So, I did my homework and drove back for opening Saturday July 5^th.
Perhaps my mistake was that when greeted I was rather boisterous in my response.
Or maybe the sales gals’ cornflakes were awry, but when I presented my two nominees the «look» was the response, and, after checking the clothing out one lady made her rejection very clear with a dusting of fingers and an outstretched return of said items to me as if decontamination was imminent for her.
I’ve had a number of days to brew this: unprofessionalism.
Many other words come to mind. Strict standards don’t apply to this situation. One of the staff already conditionally accepted the last two pieces. «The Tall Girl» just presented herself as an easy target/​victim. I’ve had this happen (high school) but never with such intended crueltly.
This consignment shop won’t miss my trade: the loyalty program was also described vaguely to me, even though it was evident I wouldn’t be welcome. If you are considering shopping with them — heaven forbid consigning something, wear body armour and a helmet.

If you love one-​of-​a-​kind statement jewelry like I do, then you will love this place. There is jewelry everywhere! In this city it’s hard to find large, colorful, and unique necklaces but Caprice has that and more. Every corner and crevice has wearable accessories.
They have an amazing hand bag collection as well.
As a consignment store I was impressed with their attention to detail. All of the clothes look brand new, fit within the season, and are up to date. I left an entire bag of jewelry and a dozen clothing items to sell and will update this review once my contract expires to inform you all of my experience!

Caprice has recently relocated from Highstreet to Glenora, and now I visit it less often than I used to. This consignment store is definitely for treasure hunters. The shelves are packed with clothes among which anybody is sure to fish out something great. I have spotted some unique dresses and blazers which unfortunatelly were not in my size. Most of the clothes are gently worn and look almost new. Caprice must have strict standards in regards to the quality of clothes they accept.
Whenever I come to Carice, the selection of clothes varies: some days I seem to find only matronly items, other days I spot lots of funky and trendy clothes. I always make sure to take my time to browse through the whole store.
In addition to clothes, Caprice carries shoes and accessories. The shoes look rather worn down, and I personally would never buy used shoes. Most of the accessories, on the other hand, look great. Once I spotted vintage Chanel earrings which were purchased by a lady right under my nose.
I’m not a big fan of consignment stores but Caprice is definitely a place to check out.
