By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I am constantly staying in hotels for work. The rudest staff I have ever met(apart from one) and they also tack on lots of fees making it cheaper to just stay at the Westin or château Lacombe down the street. I was called at 7 on the day of my reservation to say that my room was going to be given away(who checks in before 7, I mea I could understand if it was midnight and I hadn’t checked in), I had to prepay over the phone with my credit card when I had already reserved online, the lady«Ute» at the front desk was insanely rude to me, not only about my reservation but again when I checked in at the from desk. I was here for work and have never been treated so rudely at a business in my life. She then also proceeded to nickel and dime me adding $ 190 in charges to the rooms I booked. Like someone already said, I could have stayed at a nicer hotel for the same price.

It’s probably the lower end of the hotels in Downtown Edmonton, but hey it’s not too terrible. I stayed here with a friend during my Alberta trip last week, as most other hotels were(for some reason) quite expensive. The hotel itself is quite small, and the size really showed when we arrived in Calgary a few days later and saw their hotel was larger than this one. The concierge was quite fast, and they managed to get our rooms ready before the official check-in time. While that was a plus, the elevator ride heading up was painfully slow. The room itself wasn’t bad, about the right size for two people. Everything inside functioned relatively okay, so at the end I didn’t have much to complain aside from the elevator ride… like seriously, you can go up the stairs faster! Will I stay back? Perhaps if I’m on a budget.

One of the better chain hotels, Days Inn has several locations around Edmonton. There always seems to be a housekeeper around from whom to get clean towels, the rooms are decent, and the prices are reasonable. I just wish there was a restaurant connected to it that stayed open past three in the afternoon.

My experience here was not a pleasant one. I booked online, and there was no indication whatsoever that I would be obligated to pay a $ 100 security deposit upon arrival. It’s been over a week and the charge has still not been removed from my credit card, like the hotel receptionist claimed. Also, I stayed with my fiancée. I had paid for a single queen bed room with a small ensuite kitchen and seating area, but the receptionist sent us to a tiny room with two double beds, assuming that since we were both women we wouldn’t be sleeping in the same bed. When we returned to the front desk to inform her of her mistake, she told us there were no single bed rooms left, even though I had reserved the room two months in advance. She had to «rearrange guests» to get us the room that we paid for. The quality of the rooms was also low. Stains on the walls and the bathroom was gross. I do not recommend staying here.

Nice! This was actually a pleasant surprise. Days Inn is generally a reliable 2-star budget hotel. You get what you pay for in most cases means it’s basic. However the recent renovation of this Days Inn combined with it’s friendly staff and great location causes me to give it a stellar review! I’d put this int he same category as a Courtyard Marriott or a Ramada Limited. Very impressed with the job they did on the renovation. It’s not a five star, but it’s certainly far above the average Days Inn! It’s one block from the main street and right downtown, so super easy to walk to pubs, food, businesses. Was a pleasant stay, would stay again any day!
