I have only been to this location once, years ago and wanted to try it out on date night with my husband who had never been there. Tip: do not go here for a date night. The clientele was seriously like an upscale McDonald’s. Kids everywhere — we were sitting next to a kids bday party and in between two other families that had crying newborns. It’s bizarre — you don’t expect it to be such a family place! Ordered wine but we’re pretty much the only ones ordering drinks there due to all of the families. Wine list was meh century’s other places have better wine lists. Now the food and the reason i gave it 4 stars– the food is outstanding. We had the spicy chili chicken to start and burgers which were delish. My husband raved over his surf and turf burger. The truffle fries were amazing, onion rings meh. I will be back but def. not for a date night!

Updating– last review was in 2014. We still enjoy Delux when we want to eat out but don’t want to spend as much as we would at some of our other favourite places. I took it down 1 star because some of the really fancy-looking«limited time– chef creation» or whatever you call those burgers, tend to be the most disappointing ones. Maybe because expectations are really raised with the way they are advertised, and then when you order it… it’s just«meh». We went there again over the weekend and this time Husband decided to do the«build your own burger» thing and THAT burger he gushed over: P My favourite burger used to be the Blackened Chicken burger with whole wheat flat bread instead of a bun. I’ve since stopped eating meat and dairy again due to health reasons, so now I order their garden burger– very good! I find vegetarian/vegan burger patties that taste delicious and are juicy are hard to find, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. I just asked to have it minus the dairy ingredients and I was very very happy with the flavours and textures! Like a different reviewer said– while not the absolute best burgers, they are a solid choice if you feel like eating out, want burgers, and don’t feel like doing a bunch of research and reading of reviews to try out something new.

I just can’t figure out why Delux Burger Bar tops so many ‘best burger lists’(hell — it’s even on my Dad’s). But try and try again, I just can’t get behind it. I find the flavour combos to be pretty meh(sometimes crazy is just crazy and not actually good) and the meat quality to not be the greatest(good ground beef quality really matters to me). Since I dislike their ground beef so much I opted to try the blackened chicken burger last time, but it was WAY too spicy, kind of greasy, and(surprise!) the chicken quality was pretty meh. I’m not a huge fan of the ‘pay $ 14 for a burger and then pay extra if you want fries with that concept’, that said their fries(and especially onion rings) are pretty good, and the portion sizes are large enough to share with a friend(never get a serving to yourself!). The milkshakes are pretty good. And it’s nice getting the cotton candy at the end. As for this particular location — it’s pretty cramped feeling and you can often feel like you’re sitting in the way(if you’re along the east wall especially). The servers are usually pretty inattentive and prefer to chat amongst themselves at the bar, but once or twice I’ve lucked out and gotten somebody decent.

While not the best burgers in town, Delux is a rock solid option. The burgers can be a bit greasy, but are full of flavour and well crafted. The Delux is my usual standby, while occasionally I go for the Out of Water fish burger. Last time I was there the Out of Water was dry and tough, so I’ll probably avoid that one in the future. Good ambience, though it is essentially a bar and can get noisy. In the summers there patio is quite nice and quiet despite being on 142 st.

OVERPRICED! 1) We got our basket of fries and then 5+ minutes later our burgers show up. 2) We both ordered lettuce wrapped burgers. Restaurants save a significant amount of money when a customer does this … SOWHYCHEAPOUTONTHELETTUCE! We got a paper wrapped burger with the same amount of lettuce that a regular burger has. If you are going to offer this option on your menu, and not offer the consumer a discount, have the decency to put it in a lettuce cup! 3) 16 oz beers. This means that the restaurant is saving 20% of their liquor costs. This might make you think that the pints would be cheaper but they used reverse psychology and charged 7.75! Save your money and get just as good of a burger ANYWHERE else rather than be fooled by these overpriced«gourmet burgers.»

Service is great. Grilled cheese Is overpriced. If you like your meat well-done, make sure you say so.(I don’t, and it was perfect for me.) Fries come in a mini shopping cart. Take that as you will. The candy floss instead of a mint when paying was a great idea(though I would have liked a mint as well).

This place was yummy! I do think the burgers were a little over priced. The fries are a la carte, but they are big enough to share between 2 – 4 people depending on how hungry you are. Jw hen we got our check the server asked if we wanted cotton candy for dessert. We declined but it was appreciated and an interesting take on dessert!

The food here is decent(4 stars), but I need to take a star off for service and another off for value. The burgers average about $ 15WITHOUTANYFRIESOROTHERSIDES. There really isn’t anything special about their burgers — my wife even commented that a trip to 5 Guys would have been just as enjoyable. As for service, they have issues with the principles of a «gift card», choosing instead to treat them as «coupons» — i.e. if you have a $ 50 gift card, and want to pay for a $ 40 bill, you will lose the $ 10 change, and it can’t be used as a gratuity. Even talking to a manager was not productive. When I made it clear to the server and manager that my intent was to tip about 15%, but because I was losing that $ 10 from the gift card, that wouldn’t be happening, the server proceeded to whine about how she«doesn’t make the rules». Not impressed. Certainly not rushing back.

Great if you’re in a mouth watering mood for a burger! Pricy but worth every penny. Full bar to boot. Decent amount of seating, they’ve got these cool square booths that could fit about 8 people all around each one. Cute waitresses too !

I love deluxe burger bar! I love going out on their patio and ordering their celebrity burger of the month. They are alway huge and really delicious. Pair it with a beer and a tiny shopping cart full of fries(so cute!) and I will be a stuffed but happy customer. Don’t let the name fool you, although the name says bar they are good for kids too. They even provide cotton candy after the meal. I have been here tons of times, and the service has never disappointed. Facilities are clean, service is prompt and the food is scrumptious.

Pretty good! This was my first visit, and I was in a group of 4. Sunday late afternoon, about 30 minute wait for a table. Pretty busy! When we get to our table our server was nice and seemed sincerely helpful. We placed our orders and the food took about 15 – 20 minutes to arrive. One friend had ordered the Chefs Special(Ceaser Salad Burger) and it looked really pathetic compared to the picture, but she said it tasted good. My burger was actually really undercooked, but they quickly cooked me a new one and took it off the bill which was nice. Another friend had the buffalo chicken sliders, which were delicious. Our fries didn’t come out with our meal, but once our server noticed the mistake she apologized and got them for us. The sever was quick with refills and checked on us just the right amount of times. I know it probably doesn’t read like a great review, but they were quick to acknowledge and correct any mistakes and that was the best part. Things happen, it sucks, but how mistakes are handled is what really matters. I will definitely repeat.

Not sure if you get what you pay for here, but they do serve a damn good burger! Albeit a little on the pricy side. Service is above average, quick and efficient. Fantastic drink menu, I love the Malibu Barbie«adult milkshake»! Great modern play on a simple concept.

I had a milkshake and a custom burger, and they were both great. I didn’t even order a side and I still left full.

It’s very nice inside with that contemporary feel and spacious ceilings. However, I was a little confused before coming here, it’s definitely a restaurant/bar rather than a ‘burger joint.’ The choice was the kitchen burger special which was the TGIKobe for 19 $. Yeah, it’s pricey so expectations were extremely high. I also ordered the sweet potato fries side, half order for 4.00 $. It did take longer for me to get my burger which I don’t mind because that usually means some care went into making it. However, I note this because it may drive some people crazy. There were a few ‘weird’ things in terms of the service here. Waitresses were counting their tips out in the open on the bar which I perceive to be very unprofessional. There also seems like a bit of attitude from the staff. It really wasn’t service with a smile, more like service with a choice to put up with you. Just a weird vibe. Also, my waitress didn’t know the special by heart which is again a little unprofessional. The good news is the product is great, but found the place a bit pretentious. Just felt for the money I shelled out, it didn’t come close to meeting my expectations. It’s ok, just not as great as the price point makes you believe.

You want a big burger you got it! The Kobe burger was a good burger. I enjoyed it, but probably would not order it again. Do not order a Cesar here they have no idea how to make one.

I really enjoy the idea of Delux. I like the celebrity chefs and the fun burgers, but I tend to be a little disappointed. Not necessarily in the food, but the servers and more importantly the volume of the music. I get excited at the idea of going to Delux, but when it is hard to have a conversation with someone sitting at your table it isn’t ideal. I want to be able to not have to yell or leave dinner with a headache. I understand that it is part of the atmosphere that is trying to happen, but it just isn’t for me. We often go with kids and it makes it even more difficult to hear. Go for the good burgers and the mini carts of fries, just don’t be expecting a quiet dinner.

I was coxed into attending this place as my wife’s friend had done a special burger for the month here. I was hesitant as I had all but broke myself free of darkening the door of any burger joints anymore, I can’t have one so why torment myself. This was a different story. Thy could make a burger on a Gluten free bun for me, just for me. It turns out I was not that special, many people order gluten free burgers, I was cut down from feeling special to be just average again, but I was getting a burger so I was happy. They delivered some fries to us first in a cute little grocery cart and I found it amusing. Now I could play with my food, something mother would never let me do! The fries were large and very tasty, something you could sit and gnaw on 1 at a time, well done my friends. Then came the burger, the focal point of our adventure here. I agree the gluten free bun is not as large as a regular bun, but when you have gone without a burger as long as I had anything was a win to me. Inside I found a very tasty meat patty and some of the freshest garnishings around. I have been back many times since and will continue to do so, the perk to this place is they are able to serve up some great Martinis… another big win in my book!

What a fun concept for a restaurant! During a recent trip to Edmonton to visit my dear friend WEM we decided to try out Delux Burger Bar. There used to be one in West Ed, but that is no longer the case so we went to the other location. The interior is really well done I really liked the layout and feel of the space. It was a mix of industrial meets modern and the colour concept was appealing. We arrived around 5:30 because when we called ahead the staff said it gets quite busy and to show up early and they were right. We were seated right away but the place defiantly filled up fast! I was very impressed by the beer selection and thought the prices to be reasonable but the wine selection wasn’t very good and the pricing on some of the glasses was high. We ordered the Beet Salad to start(it was good but way too much goat cheese I thought) for the mains we shared the Delux Kobe beef Sliders and the Nathan’s Hot Dog Sliders. Both were very delicious and juicy and it was just enough food to fill up both of us. We couldn’t resist having dessert so we ordered the Cookies & Cream which was a large warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream… It was great! Our server was sweet and fast and so was the service. When we went to pay we got a little surprise… instead of after dinner mints they give you cotton candy! You got a fan, Delux!
