Get the cream cheese with your bagel. Trust me on this one. They have the best flavoured cream cheese I’ve ever tried! The garlic and herb is too die for(although you might not want to eat it before having to talk to people… it packs a real punch). The spinach and feta is also amazing. Yum, yum. Their coffee is also alright if you are in need of a java fix and I’ve been meaning to try out more of their drinks — they’ve got quite a selection. One small complaint is that they do take a while to make your food/drink, so just schedule in a little wait time if you’re planning to pick up some goodies before class.

My university days are long behind me but a trip to the UofA to meet someone lead me to Joe and as soon as I saw Joe sold mini donuts I knew me and Joe were going to get along just fine! At half a dozen for 2.00 or a dozen for 3.50 they are probably the most reasonably priced mini donuts I have seen in my travels. The whole menu looked pretty reasonable price wise and I was surprised with all the stories I hear about bad overpriced campus food that this place didn’t have a mile long line. I would definitely recommend this place to any cash strapped students needing a caffeine or pastry fix. They had some amazing looking red velvet cupcakes as well as a really pretty three tier display of mini jelly donuts with different colored frosting. I don’t know that I would ever want to go back to the days of late night cram sessions and student loans but I might be a little more inclined had Macewan had a place like this on campus during my time.
