Take it from someone who eats donuts at group meetings every other week(yay grad studies), Cram Dunk is the best you’ll find on campus. The donuts are fresher tasting than those from Tim Hortons… even the day after. The prices, especially for scones and the like, are better than other on-campus cafeterias. You also get MASSIVE scones, not some chintzy little bread buns. Cram Dunk is definitely a favorite among my research group.

Cram Dunk wins the SUB coffee competition for me. You get more coffee for less dollars than Java Jive, but it’s still fair trade and usually pretty decent, unlike Subway. I’m also a pretty bit fan of the Subnut. Indecisive? How about a big cinnamon doughnut with toasted coconut AND peanuts? Definitely my favourite SUB snack. Careful what you get here though… the muffins are terrible.

I have so many fond memories of Cram Dunk. Actually, the circumstances of said memories are usually not so fond. Staying overnight in SUB to write a paper or study for finals… that was when I needed Cram Dunk the most. The donuts and pastries are always baked fresh daily, or you can buy the leftovers(day olds) for cheap cheap cheap. When I worked in SUB, I would buy an oatmeal cookie almost every day. And when they upped the price by 12 cents without warning(what was with that?), my «regular» status let me slip by on the old price for an extra day. Lucky me! Sometimes the cashier is nowhere to be found but if you need a quick drink or cheap sugary treat, look no further on the U of A campus than Cram Dunk.

Cram Dunk makes delicious, soft donuts that will cure any craving. It’s been a while since I have been here but I don’t expect their quality has hindered. It’s usually open 24⁄7 for students cramming for finals(hence the name). The smell is enough to lure you in. All their donuts are made fresh to eat. Some of you that only eat when under stress may want to try and avoid it because once you start you won’t be able to stop. It’s no Tim Hortons but it can compete. I am sure it is responsible for tons of exam weight. It is so tempting and so hard to say no but it is really good.

Coffee and doughnuts go well with studying, and Cram Dunk has a decent selection of baked goodness and caffeinated beverages. Located in the food court of the Student’s Union Building, I am often tempted by the aroma coming from here. It isn’t Tim Horton’s but it is the next best thing. It is locally owned and operated, with profits going back into the university, and the coffee is Fair Trade, so you can totally feel good about your purchase.

Mmm, there’s nothing like a good donut to relieve those major long cramming sessions. I’m guessing U of A students take advantage of Cram Dunk when they want to reward themselves after all that studying. It’s owned and managed by the Student Union, and is located in the food court on the main level of the Student Union Building. They make all their donuts and pastries everyday on site, so you’re guaranteed freshness if you go in the morning and afternoon. I don’t mind picking up a donut here now and then, if there’s no Tim Horton’s nearby. Cram Dunk donuts are still soft and chewy, and they have the candy sprinkle ones I love! Their coffee is also fair trade, so you can get your caffeine fix guilt-free. Profits also go towards the Student Union services, so you know your money is going towards something useful and not just someone else’s pocket.
