Had a root beer brisket sandwich which was OK, $ 9. Mine was served in focaccia(not sure if out of torpedo buns?) which while soft fresh & delicious quickly turned into a soggy chewy mess. The brisket itself was tender and had that salubrious toasted marshmallow taste of root beer, but a little over-toasted IMO slightly burnt tasting in spots. There was sparse romaine lettuce, and that was about it. No white sweet sauce as pictured by previous Unilocalers, which was fine with me, I don’t care for it and it would have been overkill with sauce. I ended up a sticky mess as it was(bag leakage as the focaccia reached maximum saturation). Not a bad sandwich but didn’t hold a candle to the fantastic sandwich my partner had from Bully. I think S’wich is on to a good thing but things need a bit of tweeking(better bread, better accompaniment with the meat, better delivery system so no sticky drippy leakage, esp on business attire!) before I’d be a fan. The fellows working the truck(a small trailer) were very nice. Cash & credit accepted, no debit.

I was able to try S’wich at the 2nd What The Truck event this year. Had the Root Beer Brisket Sandwich. Simply put, it’s good! You can tell that everything in that sandwich is made from scratch. The only negative i found in my opinion is the price. It just seemed a bit steep for me.

Delicious, not-your-average-sandwiches with everything made from scratch! I say not your average sandwich, because let’s be honest, when most people hear«sandwich» it’s not much to be excited about. But THIS is!!! Homemade bread, so fresh and soft. Smoked & cured meats(brisket is my favorite), homemade sauces, vegetarian options. Homemade ice cream sandwiches and frozen brownies. So check it out… 2015 season, Jasper ave between 104⁄103 street.

We hired Swich to cater our wedding reception this past weekend. From the start, they were amazing to deal with. My emails were always answered super promptly and Lex was always really helpful in answering questions. We had been looking for something to fit a few dietary needs(gluten free, vegetarian, and meat lovers) and they definitely provided that. It’s not always easy to find one food truck that can accommodate all 3, but Swich did so very easily. We decided on the options of the Root Beer Braised Beef Brisket, Maple Bacon BLT, Smoked Chicken Club, Chickpea Masala(vegetarian), and Smoky Tomato Soup for our guests. All of the options were amazing and our guests raved at the food. They were also so accommodating at dealing with some picky kids who didn’t want any vegetables on their sandwich and didn’t even hesitate when asking for a sandwich with no vegetables or no condiments on it. The bread is homemade and super fresh and delicious. We were beyond happy that we selected Swich for our reception and will definitely be seeking them out around town this summer!

AMAZING! Best sandwiches in the entire city! I love their chicken caesar sandwich and their soups are great. Will definitely be making a trip out to the MacEwan Robbins building to see them before Spring!

I’m skeptical when it comes to food trucks in Edmonton. For me, it just isn’t worth the time, money and effort. Swich changed my perceptions as it was surprisingly decent. Lesson learned, always keep your expectations low(such a good slogan to live by). Anyways, I went with a friend one day during work to check it out. It’s one of her favourites so she knew exactly where they are usually located(Jasper Ave and 104 Street). They have a couple of sandwiches, desserts and drinks to choose from. We didn’t have to wait(success for missing the lunch rush) so we ordered: — Green curry chicken sandwich($ 8.50) — flavour was spot on but the amount of chicken in my sandwich was lacking. The bun was nice and soft but it was pretty small. This is why I’m not the biggest fan of food trucks — price to food ratio is not the greatest but what do I know? — Vegetarian($ 7.00) — my friend only orders this and it actually looked good. I think it might have even had more filling than my sandwich. — Brownie ice cream sandwich($ 4.25) — best ice cream sandwich I’ve ever had. You can tell it’s homemade and made with love. If you work downtown, it’s an easy walk and nice for a light, sandwichy lunch.

Swich is DELISH! Last year the Swich team was out and about alternating at the UofA hospital and RAH hospital, so I used to head over to RAH every Tuesday Thursday to see what they had to offer. Usually there are three varieties of sandwiches to choose from: Mortadella, Korean Smoked Meat, Turkey Club, Green Chicken Curry, Montréal Smoked Meat, Root Beer Braised Brisket, and Vegetarian Sandwiches, smoked salmon, everything is good. They’re made on fresh, homemade bread too which really makes the sandwiches pop! My favs though are the brisket and the turkey club. :) He also does ice cream sandwiches which are great, if you have the opportunity to see the ferrero rocher sammy, give it a go, it’s too good to miss. This year he’s added iced brownies which are rich and superb. Located this year at their new spot on 104 st and Jasper Ave, my co workers and I still make weekly visits to get our Swich fix! What are you waiting for, go check this truck out!

Being the only regular food truck around the KEC and the UAH, Swich and me are going to get to know each other real well this summer. So it’s nice that the delicious food’s swiched(groan!) up fairly often and because he’s reliable on twitter and the food truck edmonton app, I can typically check the menu/exact location ahead of time. So the menu itself is pretty simple– usually a selection of three sammies and an assortment of frozen treats– but what he does put together is quite nice. I had this vege curry chickpea concoction the other day and BOOM! Loved it. Delicious and the flavor profiles were a delight to the tastebuds. I will echo Liv V. and say the deli meat on the green curry sandwich is really salty and overall a little lackluster– the slices of pickled bamboo shoots just not dynamic enough to keep the flavors exciting through to the last bite. The pretzel roll is really yummy though, so I’m excited to try it with something else tucked inside. I’ve tried twice now to make it to the truck before the mortadella sells out, so beware and arrive early.

Swich is a neat little food trailer with a graffiti-like name and menu font. Right now, they are doing lunches, alternating between the Kaye Health Centre near the U of A and the Royal Alex on the north side. As the name suggests, Swich does sandwiches, but switches them up a bit. I tried the Mortadella sandwich, which was presented on a delectably crusty baguette. The mortadella was supple and buttery. Slivers of pistachios and julienned granny smith apples kept things interesting. The green curry chicken sandwich on a pretzel roll was also scrumptious, though I found the chicken itself(deli style, sliced) somewhat bland. Pickled bamboo shoots and a green curry aioli were exotic, piquant, and intriguing. Swich also makes ice cream sandwiches. I’ve heard rave reviews of their lemongrass-ginger ones, but I was far too tempted to try the chocolate-cherry ice cream sandwich(which is also gluten free, for those with dietary restrictions). WOW. It was like a magical chef unicorn made me a magical ice cream sandwich and presented it, still glittering, in a silvery wrapper.
