I forgot my lunch yesterday so I went to the food court in City Center to grab a bite to eat. I decided to get the Teriyaki Chicken special at Soho Japanese. The sign advertising the special caught my eye. The dish was good, however, I wish I could taste the teriyaki sauce more in the stir fry. The vegetables were crisp and the chicken tender. The portion is generous. As I was eating, I thought to myself, I have eaten this dish before but not from here — from Edo Japan. From what I can tell, there is very little difference between these 2 establishments in what they serve and how they serve it. If you are coming here expecting a different experience from Edo, you will be disappointed. With that being said, the food was fine and cured my afternoon hunger pangs.

Get the chicken combo special with 2 scoops of sauce. It is the best thing on the menu hands down

Awesome food. I like the teriyaki beef but am a bigger fan of the curry beef on rice. They always pile the food high and it’s very inexpensive compared with the rest of the food court fare. Plus it’s relatively healthy. Waaay better portion size and cheaper than the franchised behemoth you see in every other food court that serves Japanese stir fry.

Decided to try this place out. I ordered«steak and shrimp» on noodles but ended up with their version of Edo’s beef on rice. Shrimp was decent, beef wasn’t. I prefer Edo.

Soho Japanese is a place in City Center that I had never tried before. I felt it was exactly the same as Edo, a bit cheaper though. They are generous with their servings but I found the sauce wasn’t great. Good. but not great. The service is a bit faster which was nice but other than that it was nothing special at all.

Today I was at City Centre, and I was feeling really sick of Edo, so I decided to try Soho again. I remembered that the sauce didn’t taste the greatest, but I decided to go for it anyways. The Teriyaki chicken was only $ 5.25 – still cheaper than Edo. They cooked up my food super fast, and my plate was piled with tons of rice, veggies, and chicken. I sat down and dug in. I was really surprised that the sauce tasted awesome. They definitely changed their recipe, and rightly so – it was so good – even better than Edo, I think. Also, the veggies has green peppers(something Edo lacks), and that just added to the great taste of everything else. I definitely recommend!
