This Starbucks location is «my» starbucks location. Meaning — it is on my walk home from school, it is across from my condo building, and it’s the location I frequent most. With that being said, it’s a little hard to love this location. Mainly just because the customer service is pretty miserable. Each time I’ve come into this Starbucks, I’ve really never had any«great» customer service. Maybe it’s just my luck. Maybe they just can’t stand me! Who knows. But is it really so hard to smile while you take someone’s order? I know this location must be fairly busy, with it being located right across from the MacEwan campus, but come on now. You can at least try to be a little friendly. Facility wise, this location has a huge boardroom sized table, which is really cool for larger groups(albeit, it is frequently being underutilized by one or two people with their laptops and a lot of stuff, disappointing!!). There are electrical plugs located at most of the tables, which is helpful if you have a laptop you need to charge up. They also have a little couch area and almost every seat is adjacent to a window, which is esthetically pleasing. I’m not sure about the review that is saying you have to be a bell user to use the wifi — I logged on just fine, it’s just like every other sbux location! The coffee is fine — they’ve mixed up my order a few times, but no big deal. If you are in need of your caffeine/hot beverage fix, they’re worth the visit. But there are definitely shinier, happier Starbucks locations in Edmonton.

I’m not a coffee person. But I enjoy Tazo, but I normally order the apple cider or the hot chocolate. They’re both good. The salted ones are my goto. This location is generally easy flowing. They’re never too busy, where you’d not want to go. The wifi is disappointing when you have to be a bell user to receive wifi, defeats the purpose in my view. I’m not sure why so many places do that.

Well instead of having to drive or take 2 buses or even walk(in normal temps) to the location on 104 st and 112 Ave, I had found an even closer Starbucks. On my travels to the gym via Route 8, I saw this location. A nice downtown location, which is mainly catered to the students of MacEwan University. It is highly visible on the street corner and part of the new Quest Condos complex. The set up is very accommodating to the students with a long table for the big gatherings as well as small tables with high chairs for those individuals who wish to work with their laptops. Also there are more comfortable lounge chairs off to the side. The set up reminds me of a student hall kind of atmosphere and not the uppity kind of Starbucks you would normally find. I’m very impressed with this location and would definitely go back for some simple people watching in the summer time.
