TELUS World of Science — Edmonton is a world-​class, broad-​based science centre that inspires and motivates people to learn about science and technology. The centre has several permanent exhibit galleries, a feature exhibit gallery, Digital IMAX Theatre, a full-​dome theatre (aka planetarium), science demonstration stage, robotics lab and classrooms, as well as a ballroom for special events, a café, gift shop and more. The centre provides interactive programs and exhibits for both learning and entertainment, and sparks the imagination of people of all ages. Each year, TWOSE hosts 2 – 3 world-​class traveling exhibitions and has hosted Star Wars Identities, Body Worlds, Harry Potter The Exhibition, Titanic and more. History

Established in 1978.

In 1978, a group of Edmonton leaders incorporated the Edmonton Space Sciences Foundation as a private non-​profit organization and began the task of promoting a new planetarium and science centre for Edmonton. Doors to the new facility opened in 1984. The facility expanded again in 2001. A feature exhibition gallery was added in 2012 and attendance for the year reached 520,000.
