Perfect place to start if you are planning on walking around Whyte Ave. Just as everyone else said the portions are very generous. The one scoop seems more like two. They have lots of flavours to choose from; but i really LOVED the nanimo bar one. My other friends«kid at heart» came out with her choice of tiger tiger. Just writing about it now makes me want to go back again. So if you are wanting an ice cream treat this is a great spot to come to visit

Walking down Whyte Avenue on this hot day I saw the blue What’s the Scoop location and it drew me in like a beacon of ice cream awesomeness. That may be a little fluffy but when you like ice cream as much as I do, it was the perfect time to stumble upon What’s the Scoop. Like me, you’ve probably walked past it dozens of time but never ventured up the few steps to the open window to make a selection. I stood there for at least a minute, trying to decide from the dozens of flavours(seriously, how can you choose!) until a man and his son came up behind me. I heard the dad tell his son he was going to have Salted Caramel so I choose that as well — decision made! You have the choice of cone or cup — and can choose from a «normal» cone or a waffle cone. I went with normal and was impressed by how much ice cream they could fit on and in the cone. For $ 4.50, it was a nice treat! At the time I visited there were two people working, which means you got your ice cream super fast. The ice cream did melt fairly fast, even though I fancy myself as a strategic ice cream eater to prevent drips, but it is a smoking hot day today. While I would have loved to stay and sit in one of the many chairs with tables on the deck and just people watch, I choose to keep walking. I can see how it could be a great place to bring the family, or a date(or yourself!) for a nice treat and relaxing seat.

Portions are huge, which make up for the total lack of customer service. They mistakenly gave me the wrong flavor(whatever, it happens), tried to pass it off as the right one(it was quite obviously wrong), and I had to get a tad demanding in order to get a new(correct) cone. Add to it them all blankly staring at me like I was asking something truly ridiculous. All in all its a $ 4 ice cream cone but it wouldn’t hurt to feign a little joy/politeness.

It’s a pretty typical ice cream shop. Bored teens working the till, lots of flavors in varying degrees of shockingly bright colours, and humongous portions. Certainly a good place, but it’s certainly got competition from the shops in the surrounding area.

I finally decided to try this place out since(1) I live pretty close by and(2) I love ice cream(but who doesn’t, right?) OMG it is so good and totally worth it. So many flavors to pick from that you may need some time to let your brain process them all. I went with the raspberry cheesecake and it was fantastic. Prices vary but a single scoop on a regular cone is $ 4.25 and that is more than enough to have you satisfied.

There is always a line up here on hot summer afternoons on Whyte Avenue, and I finally know why. The huge number of flavour choices(some of which are quite unusual — Wet Paint?). The huge scoops — my regular single scoop could fill a soup bowl. The friendly staff. The delicious, sweet, cold ice cream. That about sums it up. There are only cups and cones here, as well as floats — no milkshakes — but the variety of flavours should offer something for everyone.
