Some of the largest and tasiest pitas in town, y’all! My hubby and I live nearby and often pop in here to grab some of our favourite things. For me, that would be the pitas. For him, the huge tubs of yogurt, which I swear he eats with EVERYTHING(Mmmm, pizza and yogurt… well, not quite, but probably only cause he hasn’t thought of it yet…), and the samosas. There is also an interesting selection of Middle Eastern grocery items. We’ve bought some nice olive oils here in the past. The staff are friendly and we’ve never had a problem with the service.

Al-Arz Pita Bakery is a neat little find tucked in between Issa’s Saj House and the Ben’s Bakery Outlet. If you ever need an ingredient from the Middle East, Al-Arz is your go-to destination. Entering the store, immediately on your right are stacks of fresh bagged pitas in all sizes. These are the same pitas they provide to local grocery stores, except that since you’re going directly to the producer you’re getting a great deal on the price. Freshness is, of course, also an issue — I don’t think I’d ever actually had fresh pitas before I tried the ones here. Throughout the rest of the store are all kinds of interesting finds, from good quality olive oils and tahini to olives and sesame candies. Anything you could want, you’ll find here. Best to take cash, though, because there’s a minimum limit to use the debit machine.

Al-Arz Pita Bakery. I went in here intrigued. I thought I was going into this great bakery. I am not sure if the sign does not go with the shop or what was up. I went in walked around, saw a rack outside the door with some huge pita bread. Other than that, it has one row down the middle with canned goods. A freezer full of samosa, shrimp, different meats(not sure what I was looking at). Overall, I walked around the whole store, and no moved. No one asked me if I needed help, nada. I was amazed. So I bought nothing.
