Yes, I’m definitely a fan! I love Rita’s and the people serving there. They are very nice specially Eun Jin. From spicy soup, stir fry noodles and chicken curry rice, it’s the best on Bayers Road. The food is very delicious and affordable! I would recommend this place to anyone working around this area.

I went to Rita’s Café today for the first time since it was taken over by new management, and I can safely say that I will never be back. Long story short? Stale, processed ingredients, no flavour and poor service. The top lunch special for the week was poutine, so a friend with me ordered that. The girl said OK and immediately went out back. About ten minutes later(she stayed in the back the whole time without taking my order) she came back and said there were no fries left. We were on our lunch break and had already waited ten minutes so we decided to pick the chicken stir-fry that was offered. She did not ask us if we wanted rice or noodles even though it was a choice on the menu, and just made rice for both of us. It was our lunch break and we were already in a hurry so I didn’t say anything. Another man was waiting and he ordered another combination plate on the menu. Turns out the combination plate was just rice and veggies that was sitting out on a plate(not cooled, or kept hot) that she threw into the microwave for 2 minutes. After putting his plate into the microwave she went out back to tend to our stir-fry plates. The microwave beeped after 2 minutes, and she stayed out back for another 7 minutes or so before coming back to take his plate out and give it to him, which was probably cold again since it had been ready 7 minutes ago. When she finally finished making our stir-fry, we also asked for an egg roll each. She smiled and said«no problem» and rang us through. She bagged it up without the egg rolls, and when I mentioned nit again she just looked confused. At this point we were almost late for our lunch break so we just said thank you and left. We had to eat lunch at our desks since it took so long, and I have never had a worse stir-fry in my life. The rice was plain with nothing on it, and had been overcooked to the point where it was a mushy paste. The only vegetables in it were onion, mushroom and green pepper, and the onion made up about 65% of it. The chicken was obviously the kind of processed meat that came in a bag and was boiled to be cooked and was overly salty and rubbery. There was also no sauce on the stir-fry. I had already enjoyed Rita’s Café before, and I was hoping that since it was under new management it would be an improvement, but clearly this is not the case. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Rita’s has extremely good homemade tasting Lebanese and middle eastern cuisine. Rita’s is situated in the Bayers Rd Village plaza. I constantly eat here because it is close to my work. My favourites are the chicken shawarma plate, the Foul bean salad, and the fatayr or meat/spinach pies. The food always tastes fresh and is bursting with Mid East spices and touches. I have also tried their pizza slices which are so good and so thick. The best slice in this area in IMO. Try the meat lovers u want go back. They also have delicious muffins and pastries if u want a mid morning snack So if u work in the Bayers village area and you haven’t checked this place out. You are truly doing yourself a disfavour.
