I have always enjoyed Alexandra’s Pizza from across the harbour so recently I have been in Halifax and convinced friends to order from here; food isn’t as good but not bad. However I ordered pizza for a friend that has never had a pizza from any of their restaurants and he liked it but it was cold when it arrived. So I called to tell them and the lady INSISTED because he was a new customer that she would keep a free pizza on file for him, well low and behold I tried to order it today for him and she said sorry my husband said no, I shouldn’t have done that. Well that’s between her and her husband, you don’t give a free pizza and then say nope I’m not allowed to do that; because obviously she has authority to give free pizza or she wouldn’t have offered it in first place. To INSIST and then not give is utterly disgusting. My whole family and the new customer are done, I hope the $ 5 product cost was worth loosing a lifetime of customers, husband??? of the lady Tina? And believe me that is 5 in my family alone and also this new customer who did like the pizza but felt it was a little cold is all. The phone call was just to let them know is all, I was a manager at a pizza type establishment as well so I know how important a customers feed back at the store level is, something this store obviously doesn’t know yet. Good luck with your customer service cause it needs an upgrade!!!

I work close to this location so I have been there a lot. I have had numerous bad experiences but always chalked it up to a bad night, long waits when not busy, gravy thick as cement, and consistently bad fries. Fries hard as rocks and powder inside. On lunch hour you don’t have time to return and wait again so all you can do is just not go back.

I’ve been eating Alexandras pizza for years, and not just because I grew up with the original owners daughter. Good pizza, delicious garlic fingers and donair sauce and an amazing greek salad. YUM. If you order take out its usually ready in 10 minutes(perfect if you call right when you leave a bar dt).

The minimum is 1 star. The food would be good if I didn’t wait 25 minutes for a slice of pizza and small plain donair. We then requested a refund because we waited so long and were short changed.

The poutine was so terrible i couldnt finish it the fries tasted like stale reheated french fries the gravy was chalky and the chicken tasted like it had set on counter for days. And when i called to complain they did offer to send me a new one but i declined as the first poutine was that terrible

POUTINE. I am going to be honest here and say I am not sure if I have ever actually eaten their pizza. But I sure have eaten their poutine, and I love it! There was a time I worked near here and lunch, almost daily, was a poutine from Alexandra’s.(I was much younger with higher metabolism.) Now i don’t live or work near, so it is usually when someone mentions it, I can’t seem to get it out of my head… until I eat it!(aka I HAVE to go get one) Something about their delicious gravy and the fact it is drenched in it… not like some places that serve up fries and curds, but not enough gravy to actually melt them… YOU know what I am talking about, poutine sin! But here it is always coated and always delicious. I think I have tried their salad, along with a poutine, and was not crazy impressed… but then again when you compare salad to poutine I will always pick the poutine… so, maybe not a true testament. If you are a lover of things smothered in gravy and cheese, you should definitely head to Alexandra’s for some poutine, plus there are a few around town… so it is pretty easy to find one!

4 bucks(if paying cash) for a fairly large slice of pizza. It’s worth it.

Alexandra’s used to be my go-to place for late night ‘za. I had a less than great experience this afternoon after ordering some delightful hangover pizza. Me and my friends ordered the 2 large pizza special, and a small garlic fingers. I ended up eating the garlic fingers myself and a slice of the pizza. The food tasted fine as it always does. I am(was) a big fan of their sauce, its on the sweet side but I think it contrasts well with the other toppings. Anyway, I’ve been violently ill all day. The only thing I’ve eaten is the garlic fingers and I haven’t heard of a stomach flu going around. Also judging by the reviews here there are sanitation issues already existing here. Disappointing, as I think I’ll be off their garlic fingers for a while.

ordered garlic fingers from here at around 6:30 yesterday, hour and a half later still no garlic fingers, so I call and they say they are just about done it and it would be here soon, another hour and a half goes by still nothing, so I order from Manhattan’s Pizza and get a larger size, for cheaper, and they get it here in half an hour. Been well over an hour since I finished the garlic fingers from there, and still nothing from Alexandra’s. If I could rate lower than one star for service, I would.

Picture it. It’s Friday night, just after 3:30am. You’ve had a few. Maybe more than a few. Your stomach is suddenly realizing it wants more than just liquids, but what do you do? Where do you order from? If you’re in the greater HRM, you’re probably going to order from the one spot still open. Thank God it’s Alexandra’s, dear, dependable Alexandra’s. Also know that this is one of the few spots in town to offer online ordering. Handy for those times when you just don’t feel like talking. Confession time: I dislike their pizza, with one exception. I’m a big fan of their Greek, because I find the strangely buttery crust and the sweet sauce goes well with the bite of black olives, and the rich crumbles of feta cheese. While their other varieties of pizza are still edible, they just leave me cold. The garlic fingers are serviceable as well, but the other standout for me is that of their scrumptious poutine. Now, before anyone says it, I know this is not«real» poutine. I know it, and I accept it. Sometimes you don’t want real poutine. Sometime you’ve had one too many cocktails, and all you can think of is a hot, gooey mess of grease and carbs. If you don’t like soggy fries, stay away from this one. Between the ocean of gravy and the use of shredded mozzarella instead of curds, this food becomes an almost unrecognizable sludge of deliciousness halfway through eating it. Be warned that poutine here is offered in two sizes. Unless you are like me and enjoy cold leftovers the next morning(Don’t judge until you try it, I swear!), you may want to stick to the small. Either way, your stomach will thank you, even if your liver does not.

I haven’t been in Halifax for quite some time since migrating west. The slices of delicious meat lovers and pepperoni heaven were just what I wanted, I highly recommend their pizza; To anyone in need of heaps of rich toppings and mounds of cheese.

Ah, Alexandra’s; a place that I frequently stopped in at during my university days on my way home after a late night downtown, and even more frequently was tempted to patronize when walking by and smelling its alluring scent wafting from open doors. These days my relationship with Alexandra’s is sadly much less frequent, but it is much more sober. I swear it was a couple years before I noticed that it was called Alexandra’s and not Alexandria’s. During my recent move to a new apartment, I treated my friends/movers to the obligatory beer and pizza. and naturally my choice was Alexandra’s. Over the span of two days I ordered a large Canadian and large works. I find that Alexandra’s pizza is a bit different than many of the local offerings in that its pizza is a bit thicker and fluffier, and it’s crust has more crispness to it, and is all in all more satisfying than a sad looking cheap thin crust pizza. Its regular sauce has a pleasing sweetness to it, and the Canadian comes with an even sweeter sauce that has a mild fruitiness to it without being too cloying or out of place. There were plenty of toppings on both, and a respectable layer of golden browned cheese holding the deliciousness together. Alexandra’s is without a doubt my favourite non-fancy-pants pizza in the city and while I’m not above getting a drunken late night slice, I think I’ll stick to enjoying it sober and using it as a form of currency.

I’m not a huge pizza fan. Alexandra’s is geat because they offer a wide variety of other food items on their menu. Their food is pretty good(though the sandwich veggies vary in quality; I’ve had them wilty and I’ve had them fresh and crispy), their fries and poutines are super and their delivery time is standard. The fact that they offer a very comprehensive online ordering system means that they’re the only pizza shop I order delivery from now. ;)

Alexandra’s Pizza is what it is… a pizza shop! And it is SO yumm! The Greek salad is the best in town and the Nachos Supreme … I dream about those. I admit, I was like most people when they hear about pineapple chunks on nachos … but I have to say, Alexandra’s has it right. Every time my daughter visits from out of town(whether when she was living in BC … or now TO) one of our MUSTDO restaurant stops(or ordering in) is Alexandra’s. Oh … and their delivery drivers are great too. If you are a ‘regular’ they get to know you!

Everytime I order a pizza from these guys. I get the heart smart veg. Everytime the middle is like glue becuase it is undercooked. I tried asking for it well done and that does not do much. If you are looking to fill up on pizza dough that is semi cooked then this is the right place to visit. The pizza dough is thick as well part of the reason they need to cook it!

Post 2am, a few drinks in ya and need some late night food to preemptively soak up that hang over… Alexandra’s is a great option if you’re heading away from Pizza corner and into the south end! Great pizza, good variety of poutine(although not«Cheese curd» poutine :(), reasonably priced and reasonably fast! Have at’er! You won’t be disapointed

When I go home I get this poutine at least twice. I’ve known the number off by heart since I was 14. I’m much, much older now. My love affair with this poutine runs deep. It’s not the world’s most ‘perfect’ poutine. It doesn’t have real curds, and I’m sure the gravy is from a mix. But there is just something about it that keeps me coming back for more… it’s perfection in a giant styrofoam container. PERFECT for the end of a night out. If you’re feeling daring get extra cheese, half regular half feta.

Alexandras is good for the late night crave. As you saunter down the street or should I say stagger. It seems Pizza is always on the mind. Here you will get the big slice to fill the gullet. If you are in the area, this should do the trick. They have great Garlic Fingers, these we love! They have an eat in area which is clean and a tv to watch while you eat. The staff is nice and you will usually find a crowd for the late night.

Earlier this week, a friend and myself ordered from Alexandra’s. We wanted to try something other than tomato sauce and opted for the chicken alfredo pizza instead. Pretty self explanatory and we had the option of three veggies so picked: mushrooms, green pepper and artichoke. The pizza arrived after about 40 minutes and was only so-so. Some of the chicken bits were so dried out and tasteless that they were almost unidentifiable. Overall, i’m starting to think that Alexandra’s has an(unstated) minimum drink requirement like donair meat or the casino. Great pizza, poutine, etc when you’ve had a few but maybe opt for another pizza joint if not.

Amazing Pizza and Garlic Fingers! The service at Alexandra’s is the reason why its missing a star. Sometimes they have great and at other times, not so good staff. But their slices are very popular among myself and my friends for good reason. I don’t know what they put in their sauce but it is amazing! And their prices are very, very reasonable. Their store is clean and has seating if you want to stick around and watch their television while enjoying the food. But lets say you aren’t in the mood for pizza. Definitely try their Garlic Fingers or Mozzarella Sticks. Or if you’re in the mood for Poutine(french fries with gravy and cheese), theirs is one of the most popular in the city! With the size and amount of cheese /gravy you get with your fries, you definitely can’t go wrong. At the end of the day, Alexandra’s definitely adds quality to their pizza and many other items on their menu. They are strategically located on Queen Street which is on the way to Spring Garden Road, one of the busiest streets in downtown Halifax. Or if you walk in the opposite direction, you are heading towards apartment buildings and grocery stores. So its a great place to stop by and have lunch no matter which direction you are walking in. Their staff don’t have a friendly consistency but their food is really great and their pricing fair. Definitely one of my top three favorite pizza shops in the city!
