Ok, so here’s my deal. This is easily the nicest NSLC in town. It’s huge, it’s bright, it’s got a really stylish layout. It has super nice staff. The fridges are well-stocked and they carry a lot of fancy product that would look out of place at any other NSLC. My problem is when my boyfriend and I approached the cash register, he was denied service because I didn’t have an ID and I was with him. For the record, I don’t drink and I’m twenty-eight. I was just shopping with my man. It never occurs to me that I will also be checked because I never buy here. I understand why the rule exists. I really do. I could be underage, sure. I could be drinking what the person with me is buying. I get all that. My problem is NOWHERE in any NSLC is there a sign that warns you of this policy. This«rule» is one that in enforced, but one that isn’t clearly posted. Have a sign at the door, seriously. Make it clearly known. And if there is a sign, I apologize, but I doubt there is. Also, stop allowing kids in. If I’m not allowed in there, neither should 15 year olds.

As far as NSLC’s go this is A-one! Why is it so good you ask? Let me tell you — In point form. — Huge, I mean huge, Cold beer room. — One of the few NSLC’s that house their«beers of the world» in a fridge — A massive wine selection, ranging from cheap to over the top pricey. — A bottle your own wine section! Who does that? Awesome! — very, very helpful staff, with any thing alcohol related. — Liquors and spirits galore! The widest selection I’ve seen in my regular NSLC’s You want it? They got it? Yeah they probably do! You want it? they don’t have it? Ask! They will probably get it for you! If you need booze, this is an absolutely awesome place to get it!

This is an awesome LC. Amazing selection, especially the cold alcohol section. Love the selection of local wines an the bottle your own is fantastic! Staff are knowledgable and always super helpful. I’ve had one lady search through her system to try to locate me a product when she was very busy. It was much appreciated!

This really is a great location with knowledegable staff. The store is bright, clean and well-organized. As Mike and I have recently become enamoured of local wines, however, I have to deduct a star for not having as great a selection as the location on the Bedford Highway next to the SuperStore. It comes close, but the Bedford LC simply has more selection of Nova Scotia wines that we enjoy. However, I like everything else about this location.

Good NSLC but that parking lot’s a little scary sometimes.

I would say if you have to go to a Liquor store this would be your choice. It is our nicest store in the HRM area. The store is our largest in my opinion and sometimes they have taste testings going on,(a nice bonus). But overall, this has a nice selection and nothing is overly cramped. You can spend a lot of time in here, and the staff is very nice as well. You should be able to find everything you are looking for and then some you did not know about. This is all good!

You know how when you go to the Duty-Free shop before crossing the US border and it’s always super nice and well-maintained inside? Well, this particular NSLC reminds me exactly of that. It’s so nice inside that I feel like I’m in a fancy, designer liquor store. The lighting is dim and stimulating, and everything is set-up so you can find what you’re looking for easily. There are towers of booze stacked around the place, but so perfectly you’d think it was a fake display. I love going to this liquor store because it makes me feel fancy, even if it’s only for a short while. Sadly, even though it reminds me of a Duty-Free shop, the prices aren’t quite the same. Don’t get me wrong, though, it doesn’t cost more here than at any other NSLC. It’s just a regular, super nice, Nova Scotia liquor store.

I know it’s wrong to have a favourite liquor store location, but this one really is special. For one thing, they use these crazy scents to make you feel all weird when you enter the store, so you get into a spending-friendly frame of mind. The store wafts the scents of coconut and cedar in different parts of the store to evoke different emotions and make you think of things like pina coladas and scotch as you roam the aisles. And it totally works. I could wander around in there for hours getting smells spritzed at me. Oh, also — excellent selections of wine and specialty boozes at this location.
