Where do I begin? They won’t cut a sandwich the old way because«it’s not standard anymore», though every other location I’ve been to has no problem with it. Is it going to kill you? Is it unsafe? Does it cost you extra? No, you’re just cutting off the top of the bread. The manager just wanted to give me a hard time. She didn’t even have the decency to talk to me over the counter, but rather kept running away from me and refusing to look me in the eye when I was trying to talk to her. Her staff just looked confused and embarrassed. As someone who has ran my own subway for four years, I can say the management has a poor attitude towards customer service. Maybe it’s because she’s pushing 50 and still stuck working at subway while serving university students all day and thinking about her bleak future in fast food. The two full time boys who usually serve me here are always great. The other ones are just poorly trained. Three tomatoes on a footlong is not to formula. If you are so enamoured with company standards, learn to get this very basic standard right. It’s literally one of the first things they teach you. The wait times are ridiculous and they are always out of something. On a different day, I asked one of the other older ladies for a damp napkin since our table was dirty and she rolled her eyes and shook her head at me as she walked to the sink, proclaiming«it’s just going to disintegrate!». Yes, I know, but is it necessary to be so nasty about it when I am asking you politely? You’re not the one wiping the table with it. I guess having a piss-poor attitude is abundant in this store. If I saw one of my employees do that I’d write them up on the spot. Do yourself a favour and go to second cup instead.

Ok so I get that this subway has huge crowds to deal with but the sandwich artists are so slow! I waited 25 minutes in line with only about 10 – 15 people in front of me, for the same basic sandwich you get at every subway. On top of which the lettuce was browning and the tomatoes looked soggy. Not exactly appetizing. I think part of their problem is they had new staff in training working, but the second week of school at lunch really isn’t the best time to schedule new staff. Sandwich was the same as every other subway, and the staff was friendly enough but based on speed alone I won’t be back.

No. Just no. For me, there are three aspects of a fast food place(and while Subway’s healthy, it’s still a fast food place) that are needed: knowledgeable staff, efficient service and skilled food preparation. After eating here a few times, I can comfortably(thought disappointingly) say that this location fails on all three counts. When my friend asked for a steak and bacon, the guy behind the counter seemed confused at first. She repeated herself and he seemed more confident. For about 10 seconds and then it was just a disaster. Efficient service? No. Definitely not. I often see long lineups here and initially thought it was due to popularity. Then I got in line and didn’t move. For a long time. Even when it’s slow, staff are not coordinated and slow. And, look, I’m not asking for a gourmet sandwich. I want a basic veggie sandwich. A veggie sandwich. There is no need for it to somehow be a combination of utter mess and barely any toppings. For a spot that caters to students who are presumably on limited budgets, this place is very stingy with serving size. Even on spreads! Very disappointing. I’ll probably still eat here from time to time out of desperation but unless there are major changes, it will never be by choice.
