Croissants are buttery amazingness. They are huge. I had the chocolate bar one around halloween and it was amazing. The reason for 3 stars is I had their café mocha is it was really lacking. I hate ending up with a thick syrup at the bottom of the cup. It was way too sweet and just not what I was excepting or looking for. Kind of a let down.

I went to Two If By Sea a couple of months ago. Their pastries are soo good, I got the last pain au chocolat for the day. I got the mocha and it was absolutely delicious. The service was good too, and friendly.

I like the strong coffee and the muffins are delicious, basically like eating a slice of cake(as I eat it I try not to think about the calories lol). I’ve never had bad service here but I’m a huge introvert so I don’t really say much aside from quickly getting what I want and taking a seat. It seemed fine to me. Try for yourself?

I really like this location for a grab and go. The coffee is strong and the croissants are buttery! I don’t normally sit in the food court area, but rather grab my coffee and whatever else strikes my fancy and sit outside on the waterfront enjoying the view. It’s probably frowned upon to feed the birds, but I do it anyway. The coffee and croissants are the same as the Dartmouth location, you don’t get the same atmosphere, but the trade off is that this location is close. Dartmouth is growing on me, but it takes more than coffee to get me to cross over. If you like Two if By Sea, live in Halifax and don’t have the time to get over to Dartmouth, this is your solution.

The dirty hipsters who work here are always sold out of the prosciutto croissant. When it’s available it’s delicious though. Also, the coffee is good, can drink black and it’s velvety delicious.

Fresh baked goods and expresso shots! I love supporting local businesses especially the ones where they leave a smile on my face.

Located inside Market mall next to downtown privateers wharf. Fresh pastries are bake onsite daily and as my best friend would call it «mo butter mo better» was the motto. I had a warm fluffy almond croissant and a 10 oz latte(beans from Peru a sweet light roast I did not need to add any sugar). They sell small packages of coffee beans with labels of origin, farmer and altitude. I hope to visit at least one more time before I leave :) My review may have been influenced by the 3 days of rain and the need for early mornings convention fuel.

The selecion!!! the selection!!! Not a big selection but a Great selection What to get. Decided on the cinnamon bun and a large latte. 8.05 $. Very reasonable. The latte was great but the bun a little to chewy for my taste but still very good. I will be back to try something else for shure.

What’s not to love? A beautiful seaside location makes for a great way to get your latte and croissant fix. TIBS, as the locals know it, makes buttery and delicious pastries and fantastic coffee drinks with Dartmouth’s Anchored Coffee. Their location in the main market hall of the Historic Properties is wonderful as much as its a bit strange – the bakery shares real estate with some relatively drab retail but also with the Halifax waterfront. So, take your treat outside and enjoy the harbour, warming up with one of the best craft coffees in town. The croissants here deserve special mention because they are massive, hulking things. I suspect they might elicit disgust from a Frenchman but to a North American trained in the ‘more is more’ school, this is truly a heavenly way to start the start the day. Still, one croissant is certainly shareable – big enough and buttery enough for two. Despite the staff’s attempt to upsell you to a filled croissant such as a proscuitto or cheese, stay firm on the original butter croissant. I found that the filled croissants had too much grease and weren’t able to cook through to reveal the rewarding flaky consistency that make croissants so enjoyable. If I lived in Halifax, TIBS would be a regular haunt. Happy staff, fantastic pastries, and some of the best coffee drinks in the city.

If you’re looking for a big buttery croissant, this is the right stop! Their croissant is probably equal to 3 regular croissant, it is very dense and probably contains a lot of butter! The bag that they give you says«Eat Butter» so that speaks for itself. If you’re looking for a healthy place for a coffee and croissant, this is the wrong place for you. Their decaf iced latte was delicious, very aromatic, I even bought the beans. If the weather wasn’t so hot, I would have gotten the hot latte since their latte art looks really good!

Two if by Sea… Appropriate name as their croissants are generally big enough for TWO. This is just ONE reason I like them, as I typically eat as if I were two. As a Halifax native, this was one of maybe 5 reasons I would cross over to Dartmouth on a regular basis. NOW I can reserve that for the other great spots in Dartmouth and stay on this side for my HUGE croissant fix. Coffee and croissant are a must here. They have anything a coffee lover will need, great Machiato and even better café Mocha. I have also had their Hot Chocolate on a «feeling like a 5 year old» kind of day, and it was AMAZING! So you don’t even NEED to love coffee to enjoy a beverage here. Their croissants are some pretty ridiculous creations. I say this in the best way possible. Proscuitto and cheese is a fave of mine as it combines two of my fave things… salt and butter. But believe me when I say they are ALL amazing! They are heavier than other croissants, which I like, but many people need a helper when consuming. so bring a friend! The price of this great place is perfect too. You can easily enjoy a drink and meal(croissant) for under 10 $$$ and leave completely satisfied! Plus with the addition of the Halifax location there is no excuse to NOT enjoy TIBS on a much more regular basis, in both Halifax and Dartmouth!(plus how can you NOT want to eat at a place that is named after an AWESOME Sandra Bullock movie… filmed in NS, RIGHT???)

Came here yesterday after the delightful smell of freshly baked pastries wafted out the door. My hubby ordered a medium coffee and asked for a receipt which was met with some attitude by a male barista. I stood beside him and ordered a large apple cider. The apple cider came out of a bottle from the Grocery store, i’m pretty sure the bottle said Dole. A brunet female barista who looked like she was in a bad mood poured my hubby’s coffee and handed it to him. I was waiting at the counter for her to steam and my cider and put ground cinnamon on top. During this time, Hubby comes back to the counter and asks for another cup of coffee. It goes like this: hubby: excuse, can i have another cup of coffee? your cream looks like it curdled in this coffee girl: Um, that’s just the acidity in the coffee– it’ll make it separate like that hubby: oh ok(walks away) girl:(rolls eyes) yup. it’s not going to hurt you. I’M STANDINGRIGHTTHERE. Poor hubby, being the happy-go-lucky guy he is, trusts her answer and drinks the coffee since she wouldn’t replace his drink. Terrible customer service, if the customer wants a new coffee, you just give them a new coffee. TODAY: HEWASBEDRIDDENWITHDIARRHEAANDNAUSEA. He wasn’t able to even leave the hotel room today or keep anything down. He wasn’t sick yesterday and the only thing we had differently yesterday was the coffee versus the cider. 0 stars for quality of drinks, and customer service. Im actually going to call the management tmw to make a formal complaint. We are on vacation here in the East for 5 days and this ruined an entire day for us.

Best, and biggest, cookies ever. That in and of itself was enough to get me to the waterfront to check this place out. Forget the amazing reviews I’ve heard on here and on Twitter — cookies got my attention. And I was NOT disappointed! They are HUGE and fabulous! And delicious! I have to confess that I’m just a plain ol’ tea drinker so the cookies really were the draw for me but my co-worker grabbed a fancy latte-like drink and downed it in mere minutes. With froth still on his lips he exclaimed«Perfect!» and that was all I needed to confirm that amazingness that is Two if By Sea.

Butter. Get in my face! TIBS takes me to butter heaven. So much so that when I happen by Historic Properties and I’m not planning for a treat my brain goes into extreme butter craving mode. It’s almost a torment. TIBS croissants are seriously THATGOOD. It’s a blessing the Halifax location offers mini-bite croissant version(including bacon). But honestly, having tried the chocolatine, the plain and my favorite the prosciutto with provolone, if I’m going to TIBS I want the real deal. A giant, as big as my head, fresh made with real butter, melt-in-my-mouth good croissant. I’ll be the first to admit I go for the butter but their coffee and espresso drinks are a worthy accompaniment. Like their slogan says — Drink Drip, Eat Butter.

I have found my favorite café mocha. Here — I found it here at the Halifax TIBS! It’s so good, and so not expensive($ 4). Nothing here is expensive; it is all fairly priced for what you get. The croissants are the size of a football, which means big enough to share! When you take a bite it’s like there is a party of butter happening in your mouth. Writing this review I wish I stopped there this morning and got one… My favorite is the prosciutto and cheese; it’s all sorts of salty, buttery, cheesey goodness. For only $ 5 it is a great breakfast snack, or anytime snack… maybe not a healthy choice but great nevertheless. The staff are mediocre. I mean, they’re not horrible, but they’re not amazing. Maybe it’s because we’re just in and out with our goods. The Halifax TIBS is located within the historical properties, so there is no real place to sit and enjoy(unless you do so in the Subway). I’m definitely not complaining about them though — they make awesome amazing drinks and food; their personalities just don’t get the opportunity to shine — from what I’ve experienced. It usually isn’t busy, and when it is the wait times are not long at all. Also — unlike the Dartmouth location, they seem to have lots of product throughout the day. I’ll be back over and over and over again.

The highlight here is the big, buttery croissants. They are big, delicious and buttery and come in savoury and sweet. The butter makes them somewhat crispy. Love that. I had the prosciutto and cheese filled one and it constituted as an entire breakfast, alongside a latte. Lattes are pretty but I don’t know if it’s the milk in Halifax but all lattes seem to have a different taste that I’m not used to, compared to Toronto and Vancouver. Still better than other Halifax lattes I’ve had, which are very few. I highly recommend coming here for the very occasional fatty, carby, full-flavoured breakfast to go. Sometimes I find myself craving this but I don’t live in Halifax… luckily, or I would probably gain 200 lbs. from these alone!
