Shine is a whimsical boutique that specializes in handmade home décor and fashion accessories. We have an awesome collection of cards, gifts, jewellery, ceramics, glass and other wonders. We just feel that handmade is better!

History

Established in 2014.

Shine opened Sept 2014 in Downtown Hamilton in the heart of the new Art District of James St. N. We are so excited to be part of a growing artistic movement in this city! We wanted to open a store for people who love something unique –something different. A store that had that special piece for the perfect last minute gift or for your hard-​to-​shop for best friend or daughter. Shine is all about supporting artists who work hard to bring a little beauty into our lives. So don’t be shy! We get something new every week!

With over ten years of retail experience and an education as a Jewellery Designer from Ontario College of Art and Design, it just felt natural to open a handmade artist-​run shop with a working studio. Having lived most of my life in Toronto, I wanted a fresh perspective and an exciting new place to open Shine. I found this in Hamilton where the arts are not only supported but celebrated! I am so excited to have the opportunity to live my dream of opening an amazing little boutique that caters to a love of all things functional, beautiful and fun! Thank you!
