Forced tip even though service wasnt great. The restaurant owner demanded tip in a pretty aggressive way

I had lunch today at the Snooty Fox. I ordered a pound of wings and a Diet Coke. There were quite a few wings and they were a good size. I ordered them with Lemon Pepper and was expecting a spice/rub. But it was lemon juice with pepper which was overpowering at times. Plus it made the crispy wings a bit soggy in places. I’d order wings there again but not Lemon Pepper. I used the washroom before I left. They could use a renovation because as I was walking downstairs(washrooms are in the basement), there was a gross smell of dirty washroom. Krystina was my server. She was friendly and helpful.

It’s alright for a bar that services largely a student clientele. The beer selection is not bad, and the food is ok. However, the food is definitely overpriced for the location and what you are getting in terms of both quality and quantity. You are paying downtown Toronto prices in a small Hamilton neighbourhood. I guess it is called the«snooty» fox for a reason…

Bad food, slow service. Took too long to take my order, took too long to get my food. Paid $ 4 to make my fries poutine, gave me less fries, gravy was watery, cheese was gross. Upset I gave that place my money. Washroom was also gross, clearly hasn’t had a decent clean in a long time. 2 stars because the waitress was nice, should be 1. Bad — that fox has nothing to be snooty about.

Service and food are decent, but the food alllllways takes like ~45mins to arrive. I quite like their steak and guinness pie and sheppard’s pie though.

I had been here a few times and its always been decent, like 3⁄5 stars. However, I went today and it was vomit inducing. I had the Canadian Burger with fries. The burger was decent but the fries were about a month old. They were cold and disgusting. They have the distinction of being the worst fries i’ve ate in the whole of Hamilton. Definitely not worth the 28 dollars I paid for the burger and a beer(after a 15% discount for the disgusting fries). This is a very pricey, run down pub. it literally looks like its falling apart. However, the food was not even half as bad as the absolutely terrible service. The young, blond lady who served me was rude bordering on confrontational. I’ve worked in the industry for years and this was by far the worst service I’ve experienced. When I wasn’t getting cut eye from this young woman I was being insulted by her. She knew nothing about the menu and really seemed upset to be there. Serving is a privilege, for her it wasn’t even a duty, just an annoyance. She made me feel like shit. It was terrible, disgusting and I will never return. Not because of the food, but because of the service.

Before my moving home, WHP got together here. It was our first time sitting here. Nice beer selection though I can’t drink much. Such good feeling talking drinking with friends. I will miss Hamilton a lot miss my dear friends

A great little place near Mac with a great student atmosphere. The food we ordered(Vanier Cup Nachos) was great and satisfactory for 3 guys. Great selection of beer and they have great specials. They have an area to play darts which is a nice addition to the establishment. Only negative is the washroom, not the cleanest or nicest washroom, but suitable for a student bar I guess.

Went here recently for a quick bite to eat. We are not«pub» types, but it was convenient for us. We had the«Catch of the Day.» This turned out to be a salad with snapper. Wasn’t expecting the Catch to be salad, but it turned out to be tasty. Added some fries to fill our palette. Food was brought quickly, was tasty and well presented. Service was gracious and friendly. Our only problem was that we sat too near the front door and there was a bit of a chill when the wind blew in. Fortunately, we were in and out quickly.

I used to come here for drinks all the time when I went to McMaster. It had a reputation of being the place to be on certain nights, I think it was Thursday nights. I don’t see anything special about this place. I think you will have a good time here if you go with a big group, or if you know a lot of the regulars. I can’t comment on the food quality or service.
