Want a challenging treetop workout? You’ve come to the right place. Even for a scared-y cat like me, this was an amazing experience. The place is under ownership transition, so there is still construction going on around the lodge area. This means there is a lack of refreshments of any kind to relax and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. I think they are in the works for some food and non-adult bevies, so stay tuned. The course is challenging, but not so much so that someone in modest shape won’t be able to power through. There’s a great variety of tree top challenges such a tight rope walking and jumping from planks of wood. This is interspersed with some awesome zip-lining and modest rock climbing over the lake. And when I say over the lake, I mean it, my feet were a few inches from the water! The guides are also super helpful, they even helped me passed some of the obstacles when I froze up from fear!

I’ve been to Lafleche on two occasions. The first was on a school field trip way back in 2003. Seriously, it stands out to be one of the best field trips I ever took throughout my entire school career(the only one that tops it was a trip to LaRonde… for obvious reasons). It was a lot of fun, and extremely memorable. Before we got to go on our cave tour, we spend about an hour running around the trails in the forests. I love to be outdoors, so this was a lot of fun for me! Maybe not recommended if you’re a princess who’s scared of getting a little dirty, haha. The second time was more recently, to go zip-lining/explore the aerial park. Again, a very memorable trip! I was visiting some family in Ottawa and they brought me for a day-trip. We were a bit worried because it was cold and rainy when we set out. We dressed in layers, and went anyway. It wasn’t POURING, but we definitely got wet. That didn’t take away from our day though! I had so much fun! The courses are easy enough that we made our way through them quite easily(we are in pretty good shape). The zip lining was a fun way to end off the courses! It’s high enough that it’s exhilarating and you get a bit of an adrenaline rush… but they take very good care of you and take the time to make sure you are doing everything with all of the safety precautions. I would recommend that you make a day trip out of LaFleche! Pack a healthy lunch, water, and a few snacks, because you’re definitely going to get some exercise!
