Intimate and clean — cozy Sushi restaurant on Lougheed Hwy (next to the best Indian restaurant in town, but that’s another review).
The kids and arrived for a late lunch, were greeted warmly and offered our choice of table or booth. Service was friendly and the sushi was pleasant. Overall, a good experience, I’ve probably found my go-​to sushi joint in The Ridge.

A worthy sucessor to Toyo.

Dropped in after a long day dealing with bad service all over town. Loved the old Toyo that was here before, so I thought we’d give it a try. 2 Adults, 2 kids.
Place looks great. Old toyo looked ok, someone with skill designed this place. Menu pricing looked good. Wattress said befire she seated us that they were short staffed, would it be ok? Honesty, man that goes a long way.
Had edamane to start. Cooked properly, just enough salt. Went well with the Sapporo beer, which came in proper chilled Sapporo brand glasses.
Wife had the vagan dinner box, which actaully looked good to me, a carnivore. I had the yakitori, the Red Dragon roll and the dynamite roll. Kids had kappa maki, temura, and side of sushi rice. Everything was served hot and fresh. Food was the best I’ve had for a long time. Presentation was adequate, but everything else (Ingredients, flavor matching, technique) was amazing. My son is very picky about his food, he eat everything and in fact we ordered more.
Excellent service from wait staff. There exactly when they needed to be, otherwise you might have thought you were eating in a private room.
If you want great sushi in Maple Ridge, there are many places to go. If you want «Oh my God that’s good» sushi, there is now a place to go, wasabi. And the price is in the middle of the pack.
