Business Owner

After nearly three decades in the hair industry, Markham resident Englika Wadera opened her very own salon earlier this year. Born in India, her skills are enhanced by her experiences in New Delhi, New York, and Canada. She studied hairstyling in India where she worked for 6 years and carried on her dream of being a hairstylist after moving to New York where she lived for 10 years. In 1999, she moved to Markham where she continued to be a hairstylist at a local salon in Unionville for 13 years. Looking back at her journey, one thing is certain: no matter where she is in the world, she will always be found living her dream of being a hairstylist.

This time, you will find her in Uptown Market, Markham’s newest plaza on Hway 7 and Birchmount. More specifically, she will be inside Pure Self Salon N Spa — her own business that opened in March 2013. «What makes me most passionate about what I do is not just making hair look beautiful, but it is building trusting relationships with my client.
